Sooo, what was your plan that let you take advantage of this? Were you heading that way anyways? I can't recall.

No. I will have to cancel other plans to make room for this trip.

Any time these come up I'm always not in the position to pounce on them. Mainly because I'd be leaving the SO behind

I've learned to jump and ask questions later. You get 24 hour free cancellation(DOT requirement) with all flights booked through US carriers.

Next time one of these come up for a destination she's already been to, I'm booking it, and then we can sort it out later.

Book it anyways and hope she has a good attitude about it if she can't go.

I snagged a first class one way ticket from London to dallas for $60. Any chance they won't honor it?

United said the fares were filed correctly, but an incorrect exchange rate caused the fares to misprice on United's Denmark site.

It was unclear if United would honor the fares.

I believe it's a legal question at this point, and I'm sure United is trying to decide if they have the legal standing to cancel these fares.

I wouldn't book any non-refundable hotels at this point .

I almost feel guilty about taking advantage of the system if it ends up working out. I know my dad would give me shite about it.

Well it definitely poses a morality question.

I generally pride myself on being able to take that moral high-ground and this IMO is probably not doing that. I can think of various reasons to justify it, but I won't.

I will still sleep fine if they honor this deal, and I will probably sleep even better in my first class seat .

Probably will.

I was just sleeping in late and missed this one.

The perils of having your own schedule.

But if a mistake hits at 1AM I'll probably get it.

It's United. They have no morale or ethics. frick them and I hope your tickets get honored. How did you find out about this, got lucky and were on at the right time?

I never get these opportunities

I went to work early today luckily and was checking out news on Business Insider. They had an article about it with the steps to follow.

I've never been to Europe soo I don't think I'll be able to turn this one down on morals alone.

Well, United has had no problems operating on the wrong side of the moral line for years, so there is that.

I usually check boardingarea.com a couple of times a day just to see if anything is worth reading. A lot of good travel information passes through that site.

I've gotten a couple, but none this dramatic. I booked 25k-$30k worth of tickets for just over $300 .

If honored I'll also get close to 30k United points between me and my wife.

The mileage booster from first class alone is a pretty darn big deal.

I'm sure they have an argument that people had to change to a Denmark billing address which almost assuredly no one has who took advantage.

That said, would be pretty darn hard to argue that

Well looks like they canceled my flight reservation.

Any idea how to get a full refund? Its telling me I can only use the funds towards a future flight. I thought within 24 hours of booking you were eligible for a full refund?

Yeah I got the same email. No risk/no reward.

They will not be processing the payments. It should never go through your card.

Some are holding out hope that the DoJ will step in. I wouldn't hold my breath.
