1. Limit the ill-advised 3's...(ie: better shot selection....extra pass)
2. M/M hammering the offensive boards.
3. Less than 12 turnovers...I know I'm dreaming with Gray at the point.

watch UK come out in zone because they know we'll jack up 3s all night

Progress alert. We ran one OOB play against Bama, and we only turned the ball over 4 straight times by feeding Mickey in the death corner of the 1-3-1 before we called timeout and ran the beautiful Martin back door alley oop that took them out of that defense. Progress!

1. Run when the opportunity presents itself, but use discretion when the numbers aren't there. It doesn't bode well for LSU to allow UK to set up their defense possession after possession. UK's great half court defense vs. LSU's inefficient half-court offense is NOT a good matchup.
2. Take care of the ball. UK doesn't need help. JOB and Mickey got a lot of the pub in last year's two games against UK, but Hickey was the reason LSU won at home and should have won on the road. He masterfully controlled the game and kept LSU out of bad spots. Can Patterson or TQ do that tonight?
3. Force everyone but Booker to settle for 3's/limit UK's offensive rebounding.

Stay out of foul trouble, limit TOs, shoot well from 3-point land

Two of their best go down with ankle sprains.
Quaterman and Hornsby shoot hi %.
M&M get boards and block shots while making free throws.

This. Before the alabama game the passing was rocky and causing turnovers galore. At the bama game everything was crisp and organised which opened things up.
We need more work put in at the board and less at the jumpers.
Limited turnovers

My Three Keys:
1. Rebounding - LSU must control the tempo and force Kentucky into a subpar shooting night. Rebounding is actually the key to tempo control and a necessity to take advantage of poor shooting.
2. Exploit our continuity advantage - one of the disadvantages of Kentucky's depth is that you can frustrate them into bad shots with good defense, and their guys can struggle to get into the flow of a game. While they can and have tired out conference foes, LSU's guys have played big minutes all year. The extended minutes for the Patterson/Quarterman/Hornsby/Mickey/Martin quintet against Bama showed that those guys can shoulder a load for most of the game. I think if our guys are engaged early, it can be an advantage if we can dictate our tempo and control the flow and, consequently, make Kentucky's platoons feel disjointed.
3. LSU MUST keep Kentucky out of the lane if we play as much zone as I suspect we will. Calipari's teams run DDM and the prescription for that ill is a zone. Kentucky normally shoots well from from all over, but you'd rather them take 3s then get their easy DDM dunks and wide open cuts. If our zone looks like last year in Rupp where they score all but like 4 points in the paint, LSU will lose.

Tell Johnny when to call a timeout.
Tell Johnny when to pull gray.
No one attempts a three.
