I used to go there when Swampys was there.

I wasn't sure if it was open yet.

It's not bad...chargrilled oysters are not Parrain's but OK for Houston

We go to the one in the Heights now and then. Not bad actually. The roast beef po'boy is actually quite legit, though I think they used to be better- the portions seem to be getting smaller and less meat. But still worth checking out IMO.

I agree. The more they've expanded, the smaller the portions have become. We used to go to the one on Montrose during lent and the one downtown(now closed) for lunch. It's pretty good for Houston.

I still like Cajun Stop more, but the service there can be spotty. There's another Cajun/Louisiana place out in Katy that gets a lot of respect, but I can't think of the name.

Almost went last night.....parking lot was packed. I was too hungry to deal with a wait. Since they've only been open a couple weeks, I'll have to hit them up on like a Tuesday or so to avoid the crowds. The menu makes me hungry.

That restaurant location kills dreams. There have been around 10 restaurants in the exact spot and I think they have mainly bee variations of Cajun themes. As a coonass who has tried each place that's been in that spot each one has sucked.

I wonder when this one will fail.

We picked up to go orders the other night. It was okay, we'll give it another try at some point. Seafood To Geaux on Mason has decent poboys and Orleans at Westgreen and I-10 does a decent job as well.

I've never been to one, but wife has been to the one in the heights. She said it was pretty good, but I'm suspect.

I'll eventually try it, but for now I prefer Seafood on the Geaux on Mason.

Been to the one near Greenway Plaza several times. Fried seafood is fine, and usually decent raw oyster selection.

Poor boys have too much bread (though the shrimp is fried to near perfection) and the gumbo is your typical "not sure how to make this" recipe. I'd say better than Papadeaux's gumbo, but not as good as Roux Pour or even Ragin Cajun's seafood gumbo.

I went to the one in the heights yesterday for lunch, pretty good poboys and fried seafood. Gumbo is questionable and do not get crawfish there unless you want seasoning caked all over the shells.

Ate there after church yesterday. Po-Boys are amazing. Had the roast beef. Bread was fresh and very good.

Gumbo was solid. Son had the etoufee, wife had the shrimp and grits.

We WILL go back!

I cannot stand Lupe's. Been there too many times with terrible service and tiny servings. Will never go back.

Too many other options for Mexican food in the area. Our go to is either El Rancho (great fajitas) and Los Cucos in old Katy.

If you're ordering anything besides fajitas at Lupe's, you're doing it wrong. Pretty subpar menu overall, but the fajitas are great. Never been to any outside of the loop though.

* If by tiny servings you mean the fajita fixings, then yes, you're right.
