Running a 4-3 is a foregone conclusion for 2015.

Of you can't see the value in adding a guy willing to work and stay with the team if he didn't start early, in between years that you take a top 5 national guy, you have no vision, and should probably just tune back in during the fall.

Wow so much fail and u have the audacity to call me one of the idiots! SMH

I like McMillan- where did u get any of that from?

Im damn glad to have him. But, we dont have to pay this type of money to bring in the Mcmillans of the world. He may have come here regardless of the OC if he was offered.

Just expected better QB recruiting from our OC, who makes all this money. Also expected more from the offense last yr.

You are probably one of the idiots claiming that "you are screwed anyway if you lose your top 2 qbs" after we went sheen to 2 scholarship guys in the summer. The national champion begs to differ

Nope wrong again, not sure where that came from either.

But let me try one on u.

You are probably one of those guys that thinks having 3 unproven QB's at a major program is adequate.

I don't think Beckwith jumps to the NFL early unless he has a monster year. He has played very well, but he has yet to become a true leader and signal caller in the middle. He and LSU would benefit from his full 4 years. He and Garrett side by side in the 3-4.

Basil,

Help me out on what I'm missing on the defense.

We have about 14 defensive linemen with only 6-8 linebackers (depending on how you count voorhies.

That speaks to me of a 4-3 better utilizing the rotating dlinemen when we are low on lbs.

Thanks!

Absolutely Agree.

It is about personnel, but it also the scheme our DC prefers.

We are not set up to run a Saban 3-4 but more to the point that is not what Steele runs.

At Clemson and Baylor he ran a 4-3, but had multiple sets including a "Bear front" etc. That is what he will employ here, 4-3 base with multiple other formations.

People just assume that because he has run a 3-4 at Alabama, that's what is coming. Even the 3-4 sets he will run at LSU will look different than what Alabama does.

Here is nice read on the subject: LINK

This is an easy fix if you we moe Teuhema and MJ Patterson to OLB. We will be fine. Those two dudes are freak athletes, who were being limited by Chavis, being only asked to pass rush. MJ Patterson played WR in HS, and Teuhema tackles anything that moves. These dudes are studs and should be shifted to OLB.
