The $577,442 LSU spent that season ranked No. 8 in the SEC and is below the five-year average of $582,000. Tennessee averaged $1.3 million for the highest among schools. LSU's 2012-13 figure represented a 35 percent increase from 2009, the first year of the study.

Yes....

That's because we are in a loaded state and don't have to fly across country as much as other schools do.

Should be even lower next year with all the in-state talent we are looking at. Or you would assume.

I like the efficiency. It's always nice to rank higher in the recruiting results than where you rank in spending.

Poor Tennessee has to fly all over the place to find their guys.

Being loaded in LA and Texas helps cut down travel costs immensely.

This needs to be pointed out as much as possible.

They are relying on the schools to report data on the money they spend. I don't believe it is accurate at all.

It is nice to have to spend less on travel expenses but IMO I think we should spend more on coordinating efforts and getting letters out to these kids often and early

So what's the excuse for auburn, bama, Florida, UGA etc.

Tuscaloosa is rt in the middle of recruiting hotbed. They are close to everyone.

No it is bullshite is what it is.

Majority of our highest rated players are from OOS.

Very few years is LA extremely loaded. And then f you didn't notice, where are the big bodies? Where are the linebackers? Qbs? No we have to travel to find those guys.

We don't have to travel to find wr, rb, db.

Heard a talking head on Sirius mention that LSU was amongst the Power 5 schools who got the most bang for the buck in recruiting.
