We basically started from scratch after we picked up Cunningham. I know there weren't similar options available in the offseason but if we had started the season with this roster I think we'd have a pretty firm grasp on the 8 seed right now.

Honest question, what makes you think our sfs are definitively better than Houston's? Is Ariza not playing well for them? Or is it because we have more depth there?

He's been slumping lately, but still provides great D.

It is hard to really rank each positions because we all have so many players that play multiple positions

My mistake, I should have said coaching and fit. Fit probably plays into it more so than coaching. You have two very good low post players and a very good point guard, surrounded by solid role players. Maybe the addition of Jeff Green puts you guys over the top, I think we need to see a larger sample size with him in the fold, though.

Yeah the team sucked under Lionel for a while.

They traded for Zbo, Xavier Henry got hurt, Tony Allen took his spot in the starting lineup, and they made a run to the playoffs where they knocked out the Spurs.

10-1 since he joined, 7 game win streak. #1 defense in the league during that win streak.

That last week or two of the season is going to be whacky as teams sort of jockey for position.

Pels just as talented as anyone in the west. Eye ball test from roster.

GS, LAC, Mem, Hou, and us imo

WHy leave out Dal, OKC and San Antonio?

WHen everyone is healthy, and playing in the playoffs when it matters:
quote:

PG: GS = LAC = OKC > MEM = Dal = SAN >NOP > HOU
SG: HOU > GS > Dal > LAC > SAN > NOP > OKC > MEM
SF: OKC > GS > SAN > Dal > MEM > HOU > LAC > NOP Barnes is shooting 40% from 3 and is a good defender. Dont let the recent additions at SF make you believe we have a better SF than other teams.
PF: NO = LAC = MEM > SAN = Dal > OKC > GS > HOU
C: MEM = HOU > LAC = Dal > San > GS > OKC = NOP We have the only center that has absolutely 0 offense.

Bench: GS > Dal = San = MEM = HOU > LAC > NOP = OKC
Coach: San = Dal > GS = LAC = MEM = HOU > OKC > NOP

No. Davis is the best PF in the NBA.

No way is Eric Gordon worse than JJ Redick.

MEM = SAN > NOP = DAL

Putting Rondo in the Conley/Parker conversation is insulting.

Asik isn't an offensive threat. People need to get over it. He does exactly what we need rebounding and protecting the paint.

That was way harder than it should have been. Guys like Draymond Green and Tyreke really through a wrench in trying to decide who goes where.

that's just being a homer. Griffin and Zbo are both better offensively skilled and can play better post defense against big guys. AD will be better than them in time, but they are about the same right now.

Crawford is their SG, i don't care that Redick starts. When i thought of my rankings, i thought of 4th quarter of the playoffs roster, best 5.

Rondo has proven how much of an impact he has on a team, and i'm sure he'll do that in Dallas in time, but i can agree with you that Conley/Parker can be ahead of Rondo.

i know that, just b/c he does what we expect him to do doesn't mean he's a great center. Every other center in the west rebounds just as good, but can actually catch and score. Asik is not better than Adams.

If you're accounting for injury history, then yes. If you're going by how they've played this season, you would be crazy to take Crawford over Gordon.

Asik is 4th in rebound rate in the entire NBA.

So picking a team for this season only, you would take blake griffin and Zbo over AD?

How in the world do you rank Dallas' bench 2nd? Their bench is terrible.

no, i didn't say they were better. Those 3 give about the same amount of production, depending on matchups, on both offense and defense. They are both great fits on their teams. If AD was on their teams, he'd produce better than they do.

If we make the playoffs, i'd much rather play GSW than Memphis. I know we've beaten them, but Zbo can do what he wants against AD on offense. He's just too big and crafty. Asik can't guard Gasol and Zbo.
AD is better than Zbo, but when they play each other, Zbo wins that matchup.

Of the 8 teams we are discussing, they are 3rd in bench points and 3rd in differential points.

San Antonio has the best bench, stats wise.
