Files to be unsealed in Seth Fontenot case

Files on the case will be unsealed on Tuesday. This was the case two years ago in Lafayette where the 18 yr old fired into a truck killing 15yr old Austin Rivault

You can't shoot at ppl running away. Some ppl just want a reason to shoot somebody.

Nah, this happened in a neighborhood off of Johnston St going toward Maurice.

I thought he bonded out pretty quickly, but it's been a long time...
I wondering what happened in this case a while back (Hadn't seen anything on TD). I think this kid is in real trouble. Supposedly, his truck had been burglarized before, so he laid in wait and ambushed these characters. The bunch he shot at may have been hoodlums and up to no good, but (legally) you can't shoot in defense of property or at a fleeing person.

I never heard that he was waiting for them. I knew his truck had been repeatedly broken into which contributed to his overreaction and likely ruining of several families lives.

You can't shoot someone who broke into your truck and they're leaving the scene. It's the law, don't argue it.

There was a long thread back when it happened. It included maps and pics of his house. The house is set back quite a bit from the street. I seem to recall that he heard them on the street, came outside and hid either in the landscaping along the front of the house or along the driveway side. When the truck w/ the kids returned, he went out to the street and confronted them, firing a shot "to scare them"
He didn't call the cops and went to work the next morning. He either didn't think he hit anyone, didn't give a shite, or is an idiot. I don't know which, but he's got bigger trouble than stolen speakers now.

Then he is not a thief if he has neither stolen nor attempted to steal nor was a party to the theft. I do not know all the particulars of this case, if he shot thieves good for him if they were not thieves he should sit his arse in prison
