No BGE or Primo or any other ceramic, or any other charcoal pit needs to be recommended.

Need some help, Christmas present was a new BBQ pit. Have a Members something or other from Sams, its huge and way to big for anything we do anymore.

Ive been looking at the Weber Genesis over at Lowes and Home Depot, but cant pull the trigger because of their overall size. Im trying to get my grill out of the garage and onto the patio so I can reclaim some room in the garage.

So, I think Ive got it narrowed down to these 2 grills:
Smokin Cajun

and

Phoenix Grills

They both look nice, I like that there are parts I can order for both. I dont know if Im sold on the burner system of the smokin cajun though. I guess I could take a drive up there when I go up to Shreveport/Monroe for work.

Looking at the specs on those 2, it seems like they are both copying Holland Grill's flame deflector style. Not sure if you looked at Holland's lineup, but they have perfected the no flare up style gas grills. They have several models from basic grills to searing/infrared models.

Either one of the 2 you posted will be great, but I think Holland is worth taking a look at if you haven't checked them out.

Not really looking for a charcoal grill. Already have a smoker sitting outside.

Those two grills are propane.

Just out of curiosity since I use charcoal but why or how does a $900 propane grill cook better than a $200 propane grill?

I could ask the same about charcoal grills.

But exponentially better build quality with the ability to find replacement parts if needed are two biggies. Cheap ones seem to rust through and cause flare ups within a year or two. Sure you can just buy a new one, but the one Im replacing has lasted for about 15 years. Ive only replaced two burners and two if the wheels fell off. Since it doesnt move I dont care about the wheels.

I need something smaller and would like a quality grill and not a rust bucket.

I actually clicked on the link and looked at the other grill. They have a pretty high build quality. The only thing about my fryer is it's loud. I would imagine the grill could be too.

Cool, just messing with you.

I watched a video and it does seem loud, I can get over that though if its a good piece. How is your fryer holding up?

Like a champ. It's awesome. I'd like to get a grill too, but I am short on space and I already have a Promos.

I don't remember seeing them at BBQ Guys last time I went. But I know Bowies carries that brand and so does a hardware store in Prairieville, on the corner of 42 and 44. I'd go give them a look in person.

But fair warning, that thing sounds like a crawfish burner when I'm getting it rolling, once you get to temp and cut back, it's not as bad.

Pretty sure they do, and they let you cook on the grills in the store if you want to demo them.

Hell yes they do, it's awesome. They have free beer, you can cook on any of the outdoor kitchen setups they have. It's awesome. Be prepared to feel poor though. They have like 20 outdoor kitchen setups and they are full of multi-thousand dollar grills and pizza Ovens and all kinds of other cool and expensive toys. It's next to chimes east.
