This is when the kids have the power. Once your eligibility starts at a school, the tables turn.

You must know nothing about recruiting.

I agree with you if we did it like J Jackson, where he led us along in a lie to keep us from recruiting another in his place.

But, flipping a recruit is all good. It just means that we have convinced the recruit that LSU is his best choice.

I'm sorry but I guess I'm a little confused, which recruit are we flipping on signing day? All of the recruits mentioned are either uncommitted or not committed at the moment. If it's Lewis that you are talking about, we have been after him all year and there has been talk of him choosing LSU in the end this whole year. With Gibson, that seems to be more of a situation of Ohio State having 3 great QB's that he would have to wait behind

You think the guy two states over plays clean? he recruits the top classes every year and there he was trying to change the rules of the game to benefit his team because he couldn't stop the hurry-up offense. Giving scholarships to girlfriends so the recruits will follow. Football is war. The one with the best plan wins.

Just a "wild hope", if Coach O pulls one of those off this year, I'm looking for a P & G... Porter Gustin.

(realistically, not happening without a surprise visit, which there's been nothing).

At the end of the day, every school WANTS to do such things to their fiercest competitors. Every year some Gump decommits just as we move on to others. Few can pull it off on a regular basis. If Coach O can, more power to LSU, thank goodness, and yaw yaw muthaf'ers.

As I recall, losing Janzen Jackson & his Dad turned out to be a huge blessing (or huge headache lost)! Not a good argument bringing him up.

Yes recruiting is effort by the coaches and some other crap as well. This is not a "clean" business with honor. Sadly and I'm included, we really don't care what they do as fans to get players.

Great point. And the follow-up that shouldn't be overlooked is that recruits that are willing to lie to one staff show low-character. And it will eventually show-up in the other house.

Nothing wrong about flipping recruits. But no need to compel them to lie to other staffs.

Never knew that if it was tougher to get a kid out of MS than it is LA. It's starting to seem that way.

It all depends. Last year LSU pulled the miss. High school player of the year with ease.

Freeze has been a good recruiter since he arrived. Not sure Mullen is but both MS schools generated more buzz this year than in a long while while we had our loweest season since '08.

I think a lot of you dont know what hell you are talking about.

Almost any coach will prefer a public pledge over a silent one

Yea, Janzen Jackson, what a pathetic move. Though LSU may have dodged a bullet with that one. And now, if one believes Arian Foster, looks like Jackson's flip was more about money than anything else. If I remember correctly, Jackson was never even considering Tenn. Not until the very end anyway. Just makes me curious now that Foster has come out with his claim a booster paid him while he was at Tenn. That being said, maybe Jackson was paid up front and when the money stopped coming in he decided to get it another way. Just speculation.

Shhhhhhhhhhh.

Remember, this tactic is on the down-low. Don't want to reveal our hand too early….
