Thanks for running through that. I have made a purchase, but haven't seen anywhere to pay the annual fee.

They will post it to your credit card soon enough.

Just send your payment now plus $89. Push the payment from your checking account.

Can you explain how you did this?

The tickets to Venice actually worked out to 100000 miles (British Airways Avios). It was 50k Avios for each ticket. I did have to pay a surcharge of $300 per ticket because BA charges a surcharge when you fly through Heathrow. Still, I'll take those seats for the price of a round trip to Miami.

So I just applied, never have done the miles thing....they gave me a credit line of 12500... A lot higher than my otheR cards ...what are the odds of my fiancé getting approved , has an okay credit score but not much income.

Eta: they approved her also, so we both buy an item pay $89 and will have 50k miles each? Can we combine them?

When I got it they had a 0% balance transfer deal for a year I think. They gave me points on the BT amount, which is nuts. I scored the 50,000 plus 5,000 for the BT.

Nice. Platinum card with a $3k spend?

So 100k for you and 50k for the SO? That will get you to Hawaii and back.

Yep, I'm debating on having the SO apply for the advantage card also or not...just don't want her to get declined, has a good score...just lacks history.

150k would be enough though I think? Trip won't be till spring 2016 anyhow...just planning way in advance,

To clarify, only in Economy. He can't share/transfer his points to her account, he can only book for her if he has enough for both of them.

However, it is quite easy, after finding 2 award seats, to start by booking his ticket first and then switching over to her account and book her ticket with her points on the website. If you're paranoid, you can always book over the phone with your flight #s in hand and do it that way after confirming again there are two seats, and just tell the rep you are switching accounts to book the second ticket. I'll assume she'll need to be present for that. You'll want to avoid having to hang up and call back later.

This isn't a reason to try. Her getting denied credit doesn't do anything. There isn't going to be some scarlet letter on her report or any thing.
