Cheap flights from New Orleans?

I've got a week off in early April, and I'm thinking about places I could travel during that time. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to fly for relatively cheap out of New Orleans? I'd like to go out of the country if possible, although I'm open to staying within the US too.
I looked into a few places in Central America, but it seems that roundtrip flights are about $700 right now. I know someone who flew down there from all the way up in DC last month for about $450, but maybe it's just an issue of New Orleans being a small airport/not a hub.

Flights to central america may be cheaper through Houston. Might be an option to drive and fly out from there.

Can usually get some pretty cheap (ish) flights from DFW to Cancun. I've seen them for $400 direct which is pretty cheap.
Well yeah....DC is a huge hub. Plus it was booked far in advance I imagine
If you are sold on NOLA, check out Lauderdale. It's about 30-40 minutes from Miami. You can get a round trip flight for $130. Can't beat that

They just added 3 non stop flights out of New Orleans today, Cancun, Cincinnati, can't remember the 3rd one. The flights will be $99 for a limited time will start in either early April or May.

Use google flights. It's the shite. You'll be able to see a map and prices to anywhere in the world.

We recently flew to Cancun on southwest for $425 but had a layover in Atlanta.
