Couldn't you instead ask why Hollywood attracts a certain type of personality?
Posted on 1/28/15 at 2:39 pm to DelU249
because they aren't real people. their whole livelihood depends on them being paid to portray someone else. their sheltered, pampered, locked-gate existence falsely induces them to think their opinions/actions on real world incidents make a shite. it's good publicity...but don't think for a minute they'll exchange their Valhalla existence for life among the peons.
should I hate 'em?

Does Hollywood Make People Fricking Insane?

When everyone paid attention to you, and now they don't. You end up doing some stupid arse shite to get noticed again.

People in theatre are wackos. Bruce Jenner isn't a wacko he's a woman.

I find it interesting that the Hollywood elite always align themselves with socialists. Penn and Chavez. Rodman and Jong-un. Fonda and Vietnam.
I seems these people live their lives in a fantasy world, and are easily corrupted by politicians who do the same.

Was there anything to suggest Bruce Jenner was fricking nuts before living in the hills?
Sean Penn?
Tom Cruise?
Kirstie Alley?
fricking brangelina have a whatever gender kid. That place makes whackos, it doesn't attract them

I've wondered the same thing. I think it's cyclical in nature some are crazy before they go and get worse. Some are normal and get crazy when they get there. Certainly the extravagant amounts of money that the successful earn, and their cliquish insular nature contribute along with the drinking and drugs inherent when people have more money than they know what do do with contribute.
Add to THAT the egos built upon fame and fans which tells an already narcissistic person that they really DO matter, and you've got quite the personality who doesn't "get" regular people anymore. Nor do they care for "regular people" as they've come to Hollywood to get away from that.

Most of the people in Hollywood are Jews or high school weirdos.

Meh, there are insanely rich businessmen, athletes, entrepreneurs and captains of industry who don't go crazy with the regularity with which Hollywood stardom affects people.
It's not the money.

some of us can handle the pressure

I've said it before on here, but George Clooney has been outspoken on this sort of thing. He's widely regarded as one of the more "normal" celebrities in Hollywood in terms of how he lives (Italian villa aside), how he acts, and how he treats and interacts with regular people. He's always maintained that he's normal because he didn't achieve stardom until he was well into his 30s, and that most of the cases of crazy are by people attained fame or were shaped by the industry early in their lives (i.e. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc).
Jon Hamm echoed that on Bill Simmons's podcast a few months ago -- he didn't land the role of Don Draper until he was 35, and he's as normal as they come.
