from 24/7

"Projected Finish
Based on these calculations, the finish would be…
1. Alabama 314.72 or 313.66
2. USC 309.67
3. Texas 299.31 (with Murray and company)
4. Florida State 287.10
5. Georgia 284.92
6. Tennessee 280.30
7. Auburn 279.03
8. Texas 278.18 (without Murray and company)
9. Clemson 278.15
10. Texas A&M 277.53 (if they hang on to Murray and the package deals that could come with it)
11. Ohio State 275.86
12. LSU 272.57
13. Notre Dame 269.40"

First, as usual they just add up everybodys totals so Tennessee going perhaps 5 to 8 more than LSU...no penalty there. That is why average rating per player is the only legit way to rank classes Second, I realize they are leveraging Murray in their rankings with Texas, but c'mon, you have them occupying 3rd and 8th ON THE SAME RANKING! Third, and not evident here but in their predictions, everybody is either going to Auburn or Florida in the uncommitted CBs. What utter nonsense!

To ESPN which I consider utter garbage, I give the Satchel Paige quote, "Don't look back, ESPN, 24/7 is gaining on you."

they also don't add in Dillon on ours.

not a big deal, it's a free article worth the same as the amount of time most spend reading it. It's filler.

Do you have any clue what "projected" means?

I agree with the free article deal. Yeah, they only gave LSU Weathersby and Key, so yeah a good chance to move up big. No Lewis...no Peters...no Jefferson...no Gibson...no Dillon or Charlot. Apparently, according to them, LSU is going to end up at 20 commits.

Do you any idea why LSU doesn't get more CBs? That has stumped me for years. Is it that Shea and Sonny don't pad the CBs for the home team like the Auburn guys do...the Alabama guys do...A&M with Hamm has lifted it to a science...Burton at Texas, etc?

Yep, NSD rankings and in the full article they gave guesses at to which uncommitted would go where...at least some of them. As per their crystal balls, everyone uncommitted is going to Auburn pretty much for some bizarre reason!

Not my money. You almost have to wonder if they skew their predictions and spin towards the more populated states...like Texas...like Florida...like Georgia including Auburn which is almost on the border. Something is awfully fishy that the CBs every single year are skewed towards the following:

Alabama (maybe justified I must admit)
Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M.

The Sight with the most scouts will always be best.

Rivals a few years ago came out and said they were in Louisiana 1 time. And that was the year that La'el, OBJ, Jarvis, Hill, and Hilliard were here.

He really is that good; I thought processing would catch up him; I thought lack of early playing time would catch up with him. Neither have. Kids know if they don't produce or compete against someone better, they get processed, and they know most of them won't play as freshmen or start as sophomores and they still sign.

Alabama is blowing everyone away if you use recruiting rankings as a absolute of talent. I agree, they are underachieving. After this class which is ridiculous, they should have 2 NCs the next three years.

Yeah, Spurrier really got a dig at them. He said this year "well, all I know is if you believe the recruiting rankings, they should win the NC every year and they don't come close. Something must be wrong."

Yeah, with Oregon not having been in the Top 10 at least any of the last 8 years in recruiting, they somehow managed to make the NC game 2 of the last 5 years. And if I remember right, Auburn kicked a FG on the last play of the NC game to break a tie.

Without a doubt.

What website are you going to use to keep up with all the activity on National Signing Day when Rivals crashes again?

Your argument about the calculating scale holds no water. Rivals doesn't rank by avg per commit either. They use a formula with only your top 20 commits. That's why a class like USC, FSU or Auburn could pass Bama on Rivals for the top class. In reality 1-25( or whatever number they end up with) no one will have a class as good as Bamas class. They have the top class period.
Also 247 doesn't just add up the totals for each kid and poof the rankings. They use a curve with each kid worth less value than the kid ranked above him even if both are 5* kids. Other sites would have multiple kids with the exact same point value when clearly the #1 player should be worth more than the #20 player. Otherwise why rank them in order.
Also 247 uses the composite for their team rankings, meaning they actually use rivals rankings as a part of the 247 rankings. That means that 247 doesn't actually have their own top classes rankings. They basically use the other 3 major sites combined with theirs to give one comprehensive ranking. Theirs are the best rankings in every way. Just because you don't agree with how they do it doesn't make their rankings bad.

Also just a reminder, our class will be higher on 247 than on rivals and by about 5 spots. Rivals rankings are bullshite. Just take one read of the "mind of mike" article from yesterday and you'll learn all you need to know about Rivals as it currently stands. Those are Mike Farrell's rankings and the fact that he feels he needs to justify his own rankings or criticize others for differing from his own shows that he knows his site and his rankings are in trouble because they are losing customers at a very rapid pace. Rivals and Farrell are a joke. They are in business because of the 247 group and now are being made irrelevant by the same people that built them up. Farrell knows it and he's cracking under the pressure of failure. Therefore the bashing of 247s rankings.
