I take it off, but it depends on how bad it is as to whether it's a must or not.

I've seen some fairly classy ones that don't bother me, although I'd still take them off. I know in some places (Dallas) people are so pathetic there is a hierarchy of dealerships and they leave on the decal to show that's where they went.

I saw some girl with a decal from Katy Texas this morning, and it was just obnoxious. Forgot the make of the car though.

Everything off. No dealer stickers on my car.

Do you take Ford/Chevy /Dodge badges also? Or are you cool with advertising for them for free?

No, because product nameplates are almost always built into the vehicle in such a way as to make it impossible to remove without damaging the vehicle. I get your point, but in that case it's actually their product and adding the brand name is part of the design.

Where Joe Bob's Nissan sticks their decal onto a truck it's not remotely the same. As soon as Joe Bob starts manufacturing vehicles he can add his logo...until then I'm going to tell him what I'd tell Academy if they felt the need to sew their logo onto a shirt I'd buy from them...to frick off and pay for their own advertising, or pay me monthly for walking around with their billboard on.

I don't want stickers anywhere on my truck. Make them take it off before I leave, that way if the paint get boogered up its on them.

This thread reminded me that I have to remove the company sign from the fence I recently had put up.

I always take them off, have taken a window sticker and a license plate frame off in front of them and handed it to them to throw away before.

I've only purchased 1 vehicle, and I definitely removed the window sticker. I removed it because it looked shitty. I didn't really care about the principal of free advertising. I'd do the same thing with future cars, because I don't like stickers on my vehicle.

They love oblivious people who they can take advantage of to advertise for them for free.

I always take the dealer logos off.

The irony in all this is you are charged an advertising fee and then they put their name on the back of your vehicle.
Does anybody remember when Ford dealerships had the names stamped across the rear bumper of their trucks?

What's the best way to remove it? I think I used fishing line last time and it still left a sticky residue, so I haven't attempted to remove it on this truck.

When the sticker is new, you can usually get it off with your fingernail and get the sticky residue off with some rubbing alcohol. Put some wax on the area where you put the alcohol..

I told them to take it off while I was signing the papers on my last purchase. They initially didn't want to do it but jumped to when I told them I didn't need to bother signing if that was an issue for them.

That was also when I threw in the "run it through the car wash and fill up the tank while you are at it." They tend to be especially accomodating once you have the pen in your hand and the contract on the desk.

A little petty don't you think? Some of the stuff you people worry about amazes me. Do you also wish your car wouldn't advertise what manufacture it is from or what model it is? Jesus

It never bothered me either until a few years ago when the Dealer stuck an overly large sticker that contrasted terribly with the paint on my wife's car.
Since then, I noticed the same Dealer has gone back to a smaller less obvious nameplate.
