Thoughts? Apparently this game releases tomorrow. I'd barely heard of it until my friend mentioned it to me this morning.

This is by the same guys that made dead island. supposedly the story is Dead Island didnt turn out how they wanted it so this is their " re make" the way they originally intended it.

Makes sense, because as i was watching and the way to upgrade and create weapons, i thought it was a dead island rip off. So makes sense, with same creators.

Just read a review for it...basically the reviewer said its a graphically updated Dead Island with a few improvements, but nothing really to set it apart. He said its not an abortion of a game, but it's not groundbreaking in any way.

I've played it probably 3 hours on and off today and I've had a pretty great time with it.
-The zombies could definitely be a little more threatening, with that being said there have been times I've been running my arse off just to stay alive. Most are just walkers but there are some that will sprint at you and some that briskly walk.
-Running/climbing/movement is very fluid.
-Graphics are pretty great looking (minus some character faces). Lighting is beautiful.
-Pretty gruesome which is nice. You can just kick the shite out of zombies on the ground then crush their heads in. I just got the ability to drop kick which works amazingly.
-Cool skill tree system. Keeps things fresh.
At this point I'd give it a high 8 out of 10. Very fun game.
Also, I never played Dead Island so idk if it's similar.

I've been watching a stream of it on Twitch for a few hours now (PC version). Awesome game and what Dead Island should've been.

I have been playing it on PC. Not the most optimized game, needs some patching to smooth out the FPS a bit. I am running a GTX980 @ 1920x1080 and getting swings from 50 -144 FPS ( I run G-sync so 144 is the max)
If you don't have a high end system and intend on getting this for PC, you might want to wait for a patch or two.
Otherwise, the game is great so far. Nice graphics, the parkour system is pretty neat. Seems to have a decent storyline going.
I played Dead Island and like this much better myself. You do the crafting straight in a menu instead of having to go all the way back to a workbench or such. It seems like the map, menus and such are much better than they were in Dead Island.
Night time is seriously crazy. Stay high and run like hell is all I can say. LOL

Excalibur does 300+ damage. I haven't seen anything else close to that damage.

If anyone wants to know where Excalibur is, it's in South East of map. YOu will see a rock formation out in water, sort of like a little island, climb it and there she be. Remember, you have to keep f pressed down for about 2-3 minutes.

Loved Dead Island. Good to hear the gameplay is fun. I'll be picking this game up soon.
