foo foo is a technical term, right?

Actually women love them some foo foo and men who can pay for it.

You seem them in their furs and diamonds, going to the foo foo opera, symphonies, dance, and hitting 5 star restaurants before and after.

That movie was a joke. I've lived in the north my whole life and never heard anyone one talk like that.

Met a couple from Iowa in Rome couple years ago, the accents are real and so is the refusal to swear unnecessarily.

Are you actually suggesting Southerners don't understand how much Yankees despise them?

I wasn't talking about Yankees really. Just what I've encountered out here when people got really honest with me about their thoughts on the South.

People from non Southern states don't spend half as much time thinking about the South as Southerners do about the North.

From a friend of mine talking about me: "I think hipster from an old southern family, but living outside of the South, is the best type of person to be in America right now."

(I don't think I'm that "hipster" but whatevs )

That makes me want to. I HATE the heat so much, more than anyone I have ever met and I live here.

According to urban dictionary.

I just felt like using it.

While this is probably true, if the South dominated the media the way the Unholy Trinity of Northeast Corridor (NYC and NE), DC, and Hollywood do, it would be reversed

I don't mind the ice/snow. I do mind the cost of living and the general unfriendliness of a lot of people. Unless you're making 6 figures when you get to NYC its not worth it. Not a problem for the OT ballers on here, but for the peons its not worth it.

So anyone who doesn't kiss your arse, act like they've known you for 20 years, and then gossip about you behind your back within 45 seconds of meeting you is unfriendly? That's the southern way, I guess.

And 100K in NYC will barely keep you out of the poorhouse. Maybe you meant mid-6 figures.

And I GTFO of NBR, BR, LA and The South for that matter...with no desire whatsoever to ever consider myself a resident again of any of those places.

And I only grew up in NBR...you do realize I didn't live in NBR my entire time there right? I lived in other parts of BR and wasn't poor once I started working in my career.

I've met several others like myself that used to live in the South(various states) that feel the same way as I about moving back fwiw. So it's not just because I'm "from NBR".

I normally think of the North as the Great Lakes and Northern Plains. As a Minnesota native, the east is the east, and the True North is very different than the east.

If you don't like winter, well, yeah you won't like the north. I only go back up when the lakes aren't able to be driven on.
