We only went for our nephew

It was some awesome people watching though. Never seen so many bare midriffs on fat women in the winter.

I just don't like loud obnoxious people or anyone that revels in ignorance

whether that be some elitist snob or white trash

both would annoy the shite out of me if they were obnoxious with their ideals

This is the problem with you Elitist Snobs. Enjoy the show for what it is. Did you not have fun at the event? Monster jam is always fun if it is a big enough venue.

Rednecks think normal people are elitists because they don't like trashy things.

So the latter.

I had fun watching all the trashy people there, and there was an abundance of that. And seeing my nephew excited about the trucks. Not something I would just buy tickets just to go to though if my nephew wasn't going(or bring my child when I have a kid).

Not really shocking. Typical behavior you would expect really. I have several cousins back in LA that are huge rednecks. Love them but I just don't have much in common with them. I was always considered the "city" cousin because I lived in BR growing up

Where I come from, a high end wedding occurs at the county fairgrounds -- the flatware is plastic, the bar is a Busch Light keg, and you are destined to see some a-hole stroll in late, fresh off the construction site, wearing his dirty jeans and wife beater. He will get his dick sucked that night.

This is exactly what I thought when I opened the thread. Both extremes can be ignorant, and I hate that.

If you're too snobby to experience something "beneath" you for no reason other than it not being expensive or something, you are being ignorant.

If you're trash and refuse to branch out or learn anything beyond what you know, you're being ignorant.

The unwillingness to learn and overall lack of desire for knowledge is unattractive.

Oh man, I went to one with boxes of Franzia as refreshments. And people were smoking cigarettes in the row behind me during the ceremony.

As was I. My mom's cousin and his ex wife exchanged shotguns instead of rings.

A distant cousin of mine had a "nice" wedding in the Catholic church there.. reception in the gymnasium at the church with Bud Light cans being passed out from the concession stand. Wedding song was Taylor Swift. All of the food was cooked from home.. like pot luck.

I didn't mind that one though. The cigarette-Franzia wedding was by far the worst

if you're "shocked" by camo tuxedo vests and music being played on a CD player that skips while the bride is walking down the aisle

then you sir, are one of those annoying elitist snobs

cringeworthy? sure

but shocked? come on

Didn't shock me because I knew these people and I'm not exactly from the most urban area either, but I could totally see Jones being legitimately SHOCKED by those weddings I've been to.

His family thinks I come from the woods, I think. They have asked me questions about deer meat and stuff. I don't even eat deer, but I thought it was odd they never had it before. I thought they were going to fall out when we brought smoked boudin to Thanksgiving because they had never had such a thing.

There are definitely people sheltered enough in their "city" life to be shocked at that stuff

For real. It can get a whole lot worse than a country wedding. Go to a Franklin County party and your mind will explode.
