biometric gun safe recommendations?

I plan on putting it in my drawer next to my bed. I need to be able to program at least two fingerprints (mine and my fiance)
Any other recommendations besides biometric? I need to be able to open quickly without fail obviously because it's for defense.
Not a deal breaker, but I would like one large enough for 2 pistols, ammo, and maybe other things. If a smaller one is more reliable, or a significant price difference, I'll compromise.
Thank you.

this ought to be interesting.
most are pretty opinionated on this one. i'm not sure biometric gun safes are that popular here. the folks that have 'em say they work fine...and you know the rest.
i can't remember where or when (maybe on Shark Tank) i saw advertised a safe box that you would slip your hand into an enclave on the top lid. and with your index finger, press a button to unlock the door and present you gun.
the thinking was, only an adult hand had the length to reach the back of the enclave, and only an adult finger would have the strength to depress the button.
but alas, i have not seen them since.

I have a sentry quick access biometric pistol safe. It stores two prints and can also be opened with a four disgust code or key. Fits in a drawer easily and could hold two smaller pistols.

They work but the cheaper ones are easy to bypass with no tools or very simple ones. Saw a video of a child bypassing one as a demonstration of how simple it can be. Make sure you research whichever model you choose.

If it's for protection just put it in the drawer. Having to open a drawer is bad enough but a safe too? If they're in your room when you awake you'll never get to it in time.

I don't trust biometric enough...yet
I use the mechanical speed vault by gun vault
Great for keeping kids out and quick enough access for me, but is not burgler proof by any means

If the intruder is already in the bedroom it probably doesn't matter how the gun is stored. Game over.

This probably won't be biometric.
Assuming you mean "handgun vault" instead of "gun safe," you ought to at least look at the vaults equipped with Simplex locks. No batteries to fail, quick & easy to open in the dark.
Fort Knox, V-Line and AMSEC all make 5-button Simplex handgun vaults in the $150-200 price range.

I prefer to have all mechanical for home defense, no need to worry about batteries or some electrical problem. Simple mechanical lock system for me. I really like the ShotLock I have mounted in the closet
ShotLock gun vaults
They've made some improvements to the one I have with the key backup and the option for electrical or mechanical. Very nice setup, and they make one for shotguns too. Give it a look if you want to consider something other than electric or biometric

Seriously, I have one on the nightstand and several other places "on the way out" no matter which door the perp take me to. All I have to do is reach for it and turn. He'd better be ready and prepared to kill me cause I'm reaching to turn and shoot.

The tech is not ready for prime time.
Think about the problems some people have with the readers on their smart phones. If your finger is injured or cut will the reader still recognize your print? If you are sweaty or if your finger is bloody from an assault will the reader recognize your print? They are great when they work but when seconds count and your life is on the line you don't want to face the possibility of the reader giving you and ERROR and failing to unlock.

Biometric safes can be opened with a latex glove in seconds. Have a friend with a sentry and after I showed him how easy it opens for anyone he sold it. Plus if your putting a locked safe in a drawer what is it for? If for personal safety you will never get it out in time and if it is for theft reasons most thieves take whole safes that small and open it later.

Lots of people need them to keep them out of the hands of children (or stupid friends). This is especially a concern for those who have more than one SD handgun gun in the house -- obviously one can't keep an eye on all of them at once.
