That's what's so much fun about history, it's all debatable. Who knows what really happened?

But from what I've read and seen, I'd have to say that it was probably a fictional fabrication.

I've heard that place is awesome. Like NOLA but better music and cheaper Uber.

You've got to be trolling.

Just in case, I've been there. Huge harbor, great amphitheater, huge palaestral field for gladiator training, a giant slab of the ruined temple of Artemis, and shitters with running water.

Also marble-paved streets---those people were fancy.

And it's very possible that all of that is decades old as some theories suggest. I'm just saying I'm not convinced. I'm a natural skeptic I suppose.

Decades old... Like it was made in the 1970s?

Did you eat paint chips as a kid or something?

And some say even older than that! Many theories have been presented, but in all likelihood we'll never know for certain.

I'd prefer to have been a Viking. No fixed destination. Sailing the world and stirring up trouble.

Pre-1800?

That would put me in India's Bengal opium country, especially the processing centers of Benares and Patna, where I would travel and write about the magic elixir that seemed to promise universal relief from all forms of mortal pain and suffering.
