It must be an uncomfortable feeling being a high school teacher. Standing in front of 30 kids most of whom are completely bored and ignoring you.

That kid really looked like he wanted to be there to learn.

That teacher is defenseless. If he defends himself, he's fired in today's world.

I've told my wife never to try to break up a fight, and if a student looks like they are about to attack her, scream.

something tells me that teacher knew exactly what he was doing. Bet their was high fives all around the teachers lounge that they got that thug out of the school for good.

The teacher was not keeping the student engaged enough, if the teacher were more involved and hadn't assumed this young man peaked his interest mountain then none of this would have happened because the student would be too occupied with learning instead of bringing his cellular device to class.

Agreed.

This teacher was probably not following his lesson plan. Where in his lesson plan would it have said confiscate phone and get body slammed?

I'm going to assume this teacher went back and noted the changes in his lesson plan!
