No reason not to, we have the best 1-2 punch in the league (Martin /Mickey) Quarterman has turned into an elite PG. It seems like Hornsby and Patterson can't miss from 3 most of the time. Calling it now boys, we will make a deeeep run In the NCAAs.

A bit optimistic.

I'll be happy just to make the tourney and take it one game at a time from there.

Wow. This team doesnt have the talent to make an elite 8

Sure they do.... Getting hot at the right time is always a factor.. This team went TO FLA and TO Vandy and got key road wins..Thats huge for an up and coming team.

To make an elite 8 run takes luck, talent, coaching, and good guard play.

And what makes you think we don't have this?????

I see improvement every game......

that team wasn't even as talented much less far more talented. the starting 5 is better and the bench is WAY better this year

You are crazy .this team is in no way as talented as Big Baby, Tyrus Thomas, Darrel Mitchell, Garrett Temple. Its not close

What makes me think we dont have a good guard play? Because we dont have a guard thats consistent.

I like some of our pieces, but we're far from loaded with talent. I like M&M, but Gray isn't that good, TQ has improved and is good, Hornsby is ok but streaky. Patterson is good, not great. Our bench is shallow.

I just wouldn't call that "loaded".

Gray is the biggest problem here IMO.. Patterson has impressed me..It showed yesterday with the mins each guard played.........

Not sure if this team makes the elite 8. Depends a lot on what seed they get.......

BUT I will say this... UK has a smothering D and LSU will be in big trouble if UK presses them.......

you got it right. loaded implies DEEP to me. not deep. good starting team. The coach has only been at LSU for a while. Two more years, and loaded will be truth.

On the bright side, LSU moved up to 47 from 57 in Sagarin after the win.

Not turning the ball over 20 times a game they won't. All the talent in the world, but very careless with the ball at critical times.

Agreed, and also we cannot inbound the basketball at critical times as they just spread like roaches when the light comes on. JJ does not seem to remember coaching and learning about inbounding plays.. Well, I don't think Dale Brown did much coaching for that either...

They shoot 74percent as a team, which is 56th out of 365 teams! How many games have you watched this year?

I love this, too, but we are with the likes of New Jersey Tech and North Carolina A&T when it comes to turnovers. We are in the 300's there -- no team can go to the Elite 8 with that turnover margin. They must fix it. If Josh Gray was Chris Jackson, we could play around the turnovers, but we just cannot.

Yep. Makes sense.

Uh, just a small difference. UK is UNDEFEATED and probably has 10 NBA players on their roster.

on paper, it looks clear to me that this team is more talented than that team. tq is coming off the bench most of the season. and even if he's not, the '06 squad had no one that came close to gray on the bench, juco national scoring leader. mitchell wasn't as good of an all around player as patterson is right now. bridgewater could body up on taz and at least slow him down a little and bridge is in the middle of the bench.

i think some people are looking at the end result of '06 and looking at the subsequent nba time and it's clouding their judgement.
