This team isn't close to that team, at least yet. I wasn't shocked at all they made it that far that year......I was actually shocked they lost in the semis.

They aren't as different as you think.

plus they struggle with free throws. That's a killer...especially when you turn the ball over so much. A solid fundamental team that is disciplined, will give LSU fits. It's all about matchups, but typically after the first round, you don't find many teams that aren't fundamentally sound.

LSU shoots 74% a team which is 56th of 365 teams in basketball. That isn't the problem. The problems are turnovers and the interior defense

Wow. Yes he is a better recruiter than coach but thats becasue he is the BEST RECRUITER in cfb.
You may not think Cal is a good coach but he made a final four at 3 different schools.

We don't run a good half court offense with great ball rotation.

If the bracket is right then elite 8 is a possibility.

don't try to explain it to people that don't understand basketball. you don't always beat a bad team by 20 points like in football, especially on the road.

they always expect LSU to win by 30 points or the teams sucks.

Had you bothered to read my post you would (should) have discerned that my point was not at all that we should have beat vandy by 30. It was that we are getting too excited over beating a team with a losing record. There's a world of difference between the two.

It's a tough place to win on the road. This team just went 2-0 this week away from the PMAC. Just enjoy the win, dude.

Let me rephrase that. We will have kentucky type talent on the floor. Tq martin and micky will end up in the nba. We add a legit superstar and a 5 star next year. We will match up with uk as well as anyone considering only 5 can be on the floor.

Not turning the ball over 20 times a game they won't. All the talent in the world, but very careless with the ball at critical times.

All of this but the t/o's can be reduced.

This team doesnt have the talent to make an elite 8
i wholeheartedly disagree. this team is loaded and talent is not at all the issue. they have a very high ceiling and the vandy win is another step in the right direction.

absolutely true. and the right matchups. a wisconsin type team would be really really tough for this crew to beat

That 2006 team was far more talented than this year's team
that team wasn't even as talented much less far more talented. the starting 5 is better and the bench is WAY better this year

soft in the paint
not sure what you're referring to. mickey and martin are tough. not afraid of contact and getting to the line. plus they can finish after contact. if they were soft in the paint, i don't think they would have the averages they do

that team was significantly better defensively and that goes a long way in the tourney. but this team is definitely better offensively and hopefully they'll be good enough on defense although vandy scored too much in the paint

No one thought the 2006 team was going to the final four.

I thought we would win it all. Those guys had played with each other growing up. We def had the best frontcourt in the country.

This team can be good, but dmitch was so freaking clutch for that 06 team, just don't see it this year.

Way too many turnovers to go that deep unless something changes.
