I just went into Cablea's and opened a box of $75.00 weatherby .257 ammo and this little old dude told me, sir we don't allow our customers to open ammo. I looked at him and said, well shite I'll just buy it online then and walked out. I've always opened the boxes of ammo unless it's somehing I'm familiar with and bought before.

No. Grinds my gears when people are opening all the boxes for no reason.

And the last time I bought pistol bullets from there, it was a box of 19

I typically open them and never stopped to wonder why I do this. When I do open a box, I only look at one of the bullets so it is pretty much useless.

I have before. It's not something I make a habit out of.

...and I always pull one out so the next mf'er behind me gets a box of 19.

Yes, and for that caliber. At $4 a trigger pull (plus tax) they damn well better all be in there.

Well if you had opened that box you would have seen that...

Check them every time. After working over a year in a sporting goods store in college you'd be amazed at how many boxes I found of bullets that were half empty from people stealing.

I always open them. Most of the time I walk around opening up boxes for calibers I don't even own. I don't see what the big deal is if the box is not sealed.

I once bought a case of what I thought were 12 gauge target shells.

When I got home and opened them they were all 20 gauge.

I now open every box to make sure before buying.

Always open before buying to make sure they're all there and open some random calibers because I likes looking at boolits.

I also like to see what the bullet looks like as I don't know every single one out there and tend to lean towards shooting polymer tipped bullets.

You should go work at cabela's and be the new bullet Manager

Absolutely, but never check to see if they're all there. I just want to know what the bullet looks like.

I've always been fascinated with ammo.

Yes but I have no reason. I guess to check quantity.

Yes.

My nephew bought a 20ct box of Ammo from Academy and 3 were missing. I always open them now.

Just bought a box of .38 spcl at cabelas this week. It was the last box of pmc fmj they had and the end was taped up. I wanted to make sure i got all fiddy rounds.

I opened around 4-5 other boxes to look at the bullets just out of curiosity. I will admit that as I opened them I felt I was being watched.

I do, but I am not sure why...I guess I just like looking at boolits too..

I am however, very careful not to frick the box up when I am opening boolits that I am not planning to buy...
