I also thought R2R was an amateur 5-star chef based on his posts in cooking threads, then his gumbo in-game thread and pics were eye opening .. Crunchy veggies?

Kimchi fries downtown Austin is the only food truck item I've ever wanted to go back for.

When I first found this board I asked for recs for my wedding day supper. Brightsen's was highly recommended. Went there and found it to be crowded and the seafood platter was just ok. Service was great though. Since then, no disappointments. This board rocks!

City Pork...that place is trying to be something, but it falls far short. It's like a business plan gone wrong. Empty charcuterie case, ordinary ingredients. It's as though some guy ate at Butcher once and thought "I can do that". Only he can't, and isn't.

Wickowick's lobster man is totally legit and might be the best tip/supplier I've ever gotten off a food board. He deserves major accolades for posting that here months ago.

So how is that a disappointment or let down?

I guess it goes the other way but relates to op's question. I would agree with the earlier posters about a couple of the domenica suggestions though.
