Surprisingly not that bad. Seems like it misses the worst parts of the west/ south sides
Never had issues with the Orange Line. Even the redline that goes through Englewood is at least along 94 not in the neighborhood itself.

LA was okay when I visited. Just depends on where you were going

I have been on the following:
1. Washington DC: it was clean (for pt) and fairly easy to use
2. NYC: comprehensive, easy to use, but nasty and too many ppl
3. Rome: It was pretty nasty
4. Paris: I don't remember much about it, other than it was dirty but everything in france was.
5. Cancun's bus system: the busses were dirty but it was mexico

Paris #1
NYC #2
If you want to see paris the metro is the way to go. Get the all day pass. The sub stations are near almost every major site.

I worked for a few months in DC a long time ago and I always enjoyed the metro. I know a few people on here have complaints, like it doesn't run enough on the weekends, but who cares? The only downside is that even at hubs at the end of the line (I think I went to Van Dorn), it seemed tough to get parking and the ride was always jam packed. It was easy to sleep, though.
Boo is right, Paris is great. Never had problems with London, either.

DC and Boston's are the two best I have used.

I use the DC Metro system. It is good.
I used Atlanta quite a few years back, I think I remember it being okay.
Both great that you can hope of a plane and take it to where you need to go.

London was ok for me also. We freaked up and got stuck across town from where the eurotrain was leaving to go back to paris. That double decker bus tour didn't tell us there last stop was at 5 pm.We hauled arse across london using there subway and made it back to eurotrain station with 30 mins to spare.

I'm currently on the L in Chicago after flying in this morning. So far had to switch from 2 broken trains and have only gone 2 stops in a half hour, not off to a good start.
Chicago's actually quite good. shite happens, usually in the arctic winter weather, but the same can happen in NY and elsewhere.

Worst is Birmingham. Might as well not even have a public transportation system.

People in Baton Rouge feel your pain on shitty public transportation. No one rides that shite.

Love the metro in DC and I've never had an issue with Stockholm's metro.

Yeah, I thought the Metro was awesome. That thing left on time every time. I got all over the place. NYC was good for the most part as others have mentioned dirty and crowded.
London was good. San Francisco BART is great.

I didn't think it was that bad. I'd just take one bus to the central hub and another to my destination. I just wished it covered more territory.
