Martin comes in at #57 overall
Mickey comes in #76 overall.

They are usually pretty in tune with the NBA draft. THeir mock draft can be found in the top left. Jarrell Martin going 44 overall, Mickey isnt listed at all.

I think Mickey is more NBA ready than Martin

Mickey's size is his main concern. He's about 6'7". If he were a little more versatile with the ball, he could be a swingman type. But as is, he is a way undersized post player who can block shots. Think like Tyrus Thomas or Hakim Warrick
Martin's body is ready for the NBA, though he could shed some baby fat. He just doesn't really have that killer instinct you want from a guy with his athleticism.

Mickey is listed at 42 on the 2016 mock, perhaps NBA scouts have been telling him to stay in school.
For the record Ben Simmons is number 2 in the 2016 mock.

At what position?
That's crazy talk

I agree about the undersized and reminds me of Tyrus Thomas too. I just think he could be a solid player off the bench to log some minutes.
Martin has the better size but I just don't see the consistency for him yet for the NBA,

Nbadraft.net has Mickey as the 29th pick this year.

Neither are ready for the NBA.

I wish people would stop saying "ready" and look at the amount of 1st and 2nd rd picks that aren't playing in the league yet. It's not like Mickey will be more ready next year than this year. Teams draft on potential and what a player will become.

Weak-side shot blocker is not a position in the NBA.

he could improve his draft stock coming back, no doubt about it

I don't really see it that way. Moot point anyway. People are kidding themselves thinking he comes back.

I love Mickey, but he is a little less athletic Tyrus Thomas. He doesn't have the offense to be a 3 and is small for a 4. He could use another year to try and refine his offensive game. Maybe CJJ can offer him the 3 next year to show the league he can play it.

I hope you're joking.

Nbadraft.net has Josh Gray in their 2016 mock and no Martin. Their mocks are spotty.

Mickey reminds me of a shorter Taj Gibson. I think that's his ceiling in the NBA. Off the bench big that brings energy and can grab some boards and get a block or 2. The problem is that Mickey is a good inch or 2 shorter than Gibson. Hes athletic and can run the court very well, but just can't play on the perimeter and is very limited on offense. Who does he guard? He can't guard 3s in the NBA and the post players would dominate him down low. Just hard to figure out how his game translates to the NBA.
Martin is a tweener as well, but hes taller than Mickey and has was more offensive game than Mickey does. Martin is similar to Tobias Harris. Size to play the 4, but skilled enough to play the 3 as well and can push the ball in transition and finish at the rim and has good range on his shot and will only get better at that. Not that polished of a player right now, but the potential is there. His height, wingspan, athleticism, ability to score, and skill with the ball in his hands makes him a very intriguing NBA prospect.
