Dang, I bet he would've killed at Air Force at QB. Hopefully he'll land in a good position at Stanford. Congrats!

Congratulations to jay and the Tyler family. On another note, Stanford, among others, is recruiting our 15 year old daughter (academics, not athletics). Very proud.

Saw a story the other day that Stanford entrepeneurs generate more $$ than any other alumni base in the world. Something like $3 TRILLION per year.

Has been my good fortune to get to know Dad a little bit over the last few years - folks at the watering hole trying to figure out the guy with tears in his eyes - guess you have be a player's dad to really feel the feeling at this moment - so happy for all

He gets to play big time college football while getting an education from a top 5 school in the US--probably the most coveted for admission in terms of applications--and hanging out in sunny California. Not a better option than that.

He's going to Stanford, but he will sign his commitment on signing day.

Lester, just found out he was accepted and committed today.

Slot receiver is a perfect position for him at the next level.

You coach my son's best friend.

Hopefully your son's friend enjoys playing for us. Going to be a fun season next year filling in Jay's and Bussey's shoes (and the other seniors).

Glad to see these young men achieve their goals. Makes coaching worthwhile.

#14 running thru #1 ranked Fla. defense in 1997 is still one of the best moments EVER in Tiger history! Hope his kid makes a few memories of his own.

I grew up in the 70's and played HS FB in the 80's. Newman was our rival and I saw some great football players to include Reggie Reginelli and Marty Lyons

Watched a one of Newman's FB games on COX and Jay's talent definitely stood out

congrats to the Tyler family

Herb.. one of my favorite Tigers of all time.. I still remember that badass run he made for a TD against Florida in 1997.

I am older than 34 but I agree. Would have been a great KR at LSU...
If he was 3 inches taller he would be Johnny Football part II.

Herb was/is the man. First real QB I remember just loving to watch. He brought the magic back.

Me too - there was just no good "objective" reason for him to have been successful as LSU's QB. He was neither big nor fast. His arm wasn't particularly strong. However, he threw very well on the run and, even as a freshman made pretty good decisions with the ball.

Faneca and Faulk get most of the credit for Dinardo's early offensive success, but Herb was right there while not nearly as physically blessed as the other 2. And, what I miss about that era - one did not question any of those 3 guys' effort...
