This is a thread for movies you see from here on out where you rate them on a scale of 1- 10 and maybe give a rundown of why you liked it or why you didn't.

Sometimes I see a movie and there isn't a thread on it and I don't think enough people have seen it to start a thread for it.

Sunshine - 5 out of 10

A lot of people have recommended this movie t me over the years so I decided to watch it last night. I didn't like it, it falls completely apart in the last 30 minutes imo.

The thing people must really like about this movie is the visual aspect, and I did like that, which is why I give it a 5 instead of a 3. Interesting premise but too much stuff in it is unbelievable.

Cillian Murphy is good in it and the movie looks really cool, but I wouldn't recommend it t anyone at all.

American Sniper

10/10

An American hero taking the fight to those dirty bastards. Everything in it is verified true and it should win every oscar.

I really liked Nebraska as well, I'd give it about an 8.5 out of 10.

To be fair though, pretty much everybody here recommends it on the premise that the concept is awesome and the first 3/4 is awesome, but it falls apart and completely changes genre in the last 1/4 or so.

I think most would still give it more than a 5/10, but it's almost universally praised up until the last act or so.

Agreed. It automatically gets a thumbs up from me because it's a sci-fi movie that tried to break the mold. Same with Moon. Both really good concepts in which the latter pulls off a better overall picture than the former.

re: the OP's game.. movie I watched today was A Walk Amongst The Tombstones and I give it a 3/10. I love cliche Liam Neeson action movies, but this was was by far the worst - ranking just below Unknown. Very sloppy, full of filler, trying to be too many things at once; a quite boring movie.

I didn't care for Walk/Tombstones either. I liked how Liam wasn't an invincible fighter (Taken) though. 5/10

Woman in Black 2: I fell asleep for a chunk of it but what I saw of it bored me. 5/10

BlackHat. Hemsworth was ok but the problem was the role itself. Expert fighter/hacker/detective. The best in the world at all those things. Cliches. Bad shooting by the bad guys. Dumb climax. 6/10

Equalizer. Exactly what I expected, which was an action movie with dumb bad guys and a superhuman hero. All the problems of BlackHat but without the semi interesting plot. I'm personally tired of these movies but wife wanted to see it. 4/10.
