What is up with people who fly with the big pillows from home and carry them on? I can understand the sentiment that a hotel pillow might be a nasty concept but what about your personal pillow after you shove it in the overhead compartment and drag it through the airport and taxi? Just seems a weird fetish.

ETA: "Fetish" doesn't necessarily mean sexual folks. Dictionary, check it out.

I take mine because I sleep better on my own pillow.

Yeah, at least put it in a garbage bag

I sleep better with my pillow. We have plastic bags that protect them while we travel.

Seriously - if you're losing sleep over this, YOU might have the weird fetish.

A weird fetish to bring your pillow with you when you travel?

Not "losing sleep", it just occurred to me as I couldn't put my laptop in the overhead because the two troll women in my row have the entire overhead stuffed with their two pillows.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. OT Ballers fly First Class where this doesn't happen. Damn commuter jets.

I agree. Dragging your uncovered pillow through the airport seems gross, IMO.

Bringing your own pillow is weird as hell. There should be segreation for these types of sociopaths.

My wife and I bring our pillows and a box fan when we travel via car. I buy a box fan at the new location if I'm somewhere that I have to fly. Don't care if weird or trashy.

I have a down feather pillow that I can wrinkle up to the size of a cabbage ball and I plan on taking it with me when I fly to Istanbul next month. There is nothing worse than an airplane pillow on a trans Atlantic flight. I know first world problems.

That's exactly what I was thinking... these are the types of people that have some strange toddler sounding name they use when referencing their pillow.

I usually don't on flights...my kids do everytime we fly anywhere. I do take mine on any roadtrip vacations or a weekend somewhere. Always pack a small boxfan as well. I have an extremely hard time falling asleep when things are deathly quiet.

Why not take a sound machine, much smaller than a box fan.
