with our class this year, 5 years ago we would have been thrilled with it, but it seems like now its never been more competitive in the SEC.

Bama is bama and is going to get theirs

Auburn now has 2 of the top 5 recruiters

A&M is recruiting at a very high level and could finish top 3 in the country. very likely going to finish with Mack, Lodge and another 5 star.

Ole Miss and Miss St just finished one of their best seasons in the past 30 years.

there are only so many Division 1 SEC caliber players and it seems like every schools message boards are saying they are having one of the best recruiting years on record. I know recruiting is a lot of BS, but still going to be fun to see how all this plays out.

those players and there families are getting worked from every angle by some heavy hitters!

Nope..as long as we fill our needs. Top 5 classes don't always translate to a great future. You can get all the 5 stars your want but you can only put 1 qb, 5 o line, 1 rb, 4 d lineman, etc etc on the field at one time.

Our future success will be measured by one recruit next year and only one.
Shea Patterson is a franchise QB. Must sign him to get back to an elite level.

According to Rivals Bama has 26 commits.

Auburn has 21

A&M 23

Miss St has 27

Now, Ole Miss does only have 16

================================================

But according to the information above I think it is safe to say that you don't have to come unhinged with worry this year.

Chill, relax and enjoy the ride.

We'll be just fine. Our combination of recruitment and development is as good as anyone in the nation.

It's a monster of our own creation. We cheered the SEC cheer for years and touted it as the best conference. Now we live with that.

But, this LSU staff today is the best recruiting staff in the country. Period. Wilson, Steel, Raymond, and Orgeron are going to be a force to reckon with. Just sit back and watch.

I still think it's amazing what we were able to do handicapped with Chavis on staff not recruiting all that much.

Yea I don't put emphasis at all on how many stars these kids are labeled with. I'll take players like the honey badger all day long.

If we get Patterson AND Franks good. However, getting Patterson and not getting Franks is not that big a deal. Patterson is the franchise.

Miles had better realize that LSU should be the reason the SEC is getting harder.

Allowing MSU, OM, Arky and ATM to surpass you is forbidden. We are LSU: the fifth most valuable program in the country with an argued best recruiting grounds access in the nation.

There is no excuse to allow LSU's recent SEC results to be a trend.

If he is feeling like a little fish in a now-bigger pond, then he needs to leave. Otherwise, he needs to be part of the SEC proliferation problem and force the Mississippi's to say this:

"Hey, we had a good run, but LSU whipped right back into shape and we are who we thought we were....OM and MSU."

The fans have every right to expect this program to be in the top 5 or 6 every year with aberrations, here and there.

Only worried because our 2014 offense. Fix the offense and I feel good about facing anyone in the conference. Heck, we "beat" BAMA in every way except the scoreboard.
We have the ability. We have the talent. Bringing in Coach O to help the D-Line with better technique, and Godcheaux, and LaCouture getting better and the new guys coming in, the SEC leading D will be that much better.
Nope, not worried.

I like parody in College football. This past season is a great example of that. Who had tOSU winning the National Championship?

That's a cliche. This is a zero sum game. Competition weakens us.

this this and this.

i'll never understand those that root for the SEC. we've more than proven our dominance. so much so that parity in other conferences is so terrible except for one or two big dogs bc the SEC is draining power away from so many schools.

so yeah the ohio states and oregons and FSU's are there. but the SEC 6th place teams are probably close to same level as the other conf's runner up.

look at texas. A&M's upswing, LSU being LSU, and now TCU and baylor are siphoning talent away.

there isn't enough to go around and the SEC is hogging most of it.

Why should we be worried with the same OC and a QB with a ton of playing experience ? And to pop that off, we have the old master, who in his own words, keeps a hand on the neck of the offense...Don't worry, be happy !

I'm fine with it, I just wish other conferences were as hard, the SEC definitely cannibalizes itself through the season...
