Hmm, guess I haven't noticed. I don't hardcore eyeball the abita section much. I do need to get my hands on the macchiatto though. Was great on tap last year.

Sorry about that. At least I came bearing good beer.

Options were limited on Sunday so we dined at Bonefish with friends that live in that area. Beer menu sucked, so I had a couple of margaritas. I had not been there in 3 or 4 years and the food was solid. The service was pretty bad though and I sensed a weird vibe going on. I asked our server about it and he said the manager was fired and lots of stuff was going on. It was interesting, to say the least. Not as interesting as your Matherne's story, but interesting nonetheless.

2BD is an Endeavor. I am not going to buy any more of this 11/19 batch. It is at the end of its window of goodness.

There or a few acids that could be the source of that smell but, given enough time, Brett will break those down into fruitier compounds. However, eventually other compounds will get broken down to produce more of the barnyard Brett that people are used to.

That brew was a bit of a miss, it was supposed to have strawberries added to it (if it's the one labeled SFH) but I never did. It ended up in no mans land, it wasn't tart enough without the fruit and wasn't bitter enough to stand alone. However, I had one this week and thought that it was much improved over a month or so ago.

Weird. Gotta be bad for customers to notice.

We go sometimes to sit at the bar and split the mussels app. Those things with a loaf of bread dipped in the broth make a fantastic meal.

We stopped there today, and I was so scared to show my face! But she wasn't there.

Sounds like some weird shite going on. But good to see some LaCumbre Elevation being distributed. I look forward to my New Mexico work trips specifically for that beer.

Maybe because I was in the industry in my college days and I have friends that own restaurants, I tend to pay more attention to the staff interaction at restaurants while I am dining. The couple we were dining with knew the service was off, but did not pick up on the weird vibe. Our server confirmed that shite was going down.

Yes, SFH.....I think it is a good brett beer. I am having no trouble drinking it. Like I said in my text, Bacchus Oud Bruin had the same smell.

What did you think of the hops in that one? I've found that following up a Brett beer with an IPA really makes the hops explode in the IPA.
