Wish him the best!! While not the greatest LSU linebacker, he certainly didn't deserve the hatred from the douche bags on the Rant.

What's with the constant allegation of "hate"? Nobody hates Welter. We all understand he tried his best for the Tigers.

But he clearly didnt have the skills to be on the field. And a lot of us were in disbelief that The coaches kept playing him. He was clearly a weak link on our D.

But stop saying we "hate" the guy. We don't.

I couldn't agree with you more. He tried his best and I wish him good luck in his future and thanks for being a Tiger.

Then what are the snide comments in this thread suppose to represent? Respect? Gratitude for being a Tiger? You might not hate him, but after damn near two full football seasons of negative posts from a large part of the Rant's posters, hate is the only word that fits.

No, it doesn't. DJ was scorned all season for playing. If anyone deserves criticism it's Coach 59. He's the one who played DJ.

I hated watching him play. I'm sure he's a nice guy. Would probably enjoy knowing him. But, he wasn't an SEC MLB. That was just silliness.

Who knows, maybe this kid can get a grad. Asst. position somewhere. If he has aptitude, he would not be the first guy to be a better coach than player.

Nope, not an alter. I just don't see the sense in bad mouthing someone for playing a game. I suppose some of you guys might be jealous of him because he's a better football player then you. But it still doesn't make sense to run the poor guy down.

The problem was Chief...jmho...glad he's gone...
I totally agree that DJW was not deserving of the playing time he got...but, me personally, I choose not to attack the players because they are all still kids in my eyes...in real ilfe, it's never a good practice to lead anyone on as to their ability or their prospects in a field of endeavor...I was once fired from a job and it turned out to be a blessing...that's life...move on to something that you are good in...jmho
