What are the chances of me getting charged for shooting these vermin on a marsh deer lease with no crops present? They are also known carriers of West Nile.

Would you?
(the regs are not from this year. Last legal day was Jan 2 2015

BLACKBIRDS AND CROWS: The season for crows shall be Sept. 1-Jan. 1 with no limit; however crows,
blackbirds, cowbirds and grackles may be taken year round during legal shooting hours if they are
depredating or about to depredate upon ornamentals or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, wildlife, or
when concentrated in such numbers as to cause a health hazard. Louisiana has determined that the birds listed
above are crop depredators and that crows have been implicated in the spread of the West Nile virus in
humans.

I don't think green jeans is gonna make a fuss out of you shooting some crows "out of season".

Crows never go out of season

I mean technically they always could be depredating a crop. Maybe not where you are but somewhere they are.

I saw a show a few years back where they killed a bunch of crows and breasted them out and ate them.

Anyone here aver tried them?

I went with a podna of mine. We brought a tape player with a crow call, some decoys, a sack of corn and a bunch of shells. We killed about 40 of them. Them
frickers are pretty tough and smart, you have to move often. Wed kill a few then move.

I've done it a few times. They have very good eyesight. The first bird in, is a scout. If you miss it, you can forget about it because the whole flock is gone. Once that scout gets dropped, it's on!! When you move spots, throw your dead birds out on the ground for decoys. It helps!

I ate one once. ONCE!

But, Mr. Green Jeans sir, I was just sitting here under this shade tree listening to a recording of birds singing when this large concentration of crows flew in one at a time and started depredating it and those pretty berry trees.
