Very excited about tonight, meeting with the new ownership group looking to bring an NHL team to Las Vegas. This is happening friends!

VEgas could really use a legit professional franchise.

But I think NHL will fail there. By year 3, Mexicans will be standing on corners giving away free tickets attached to hooker advertisements.

I think it's one of those cases that there has been so much smoke, that there will be fire.

For good or for worse.

If it means QC/or Seattle also gets a team, I will take the big Vegas risk.

Vegas having a pro sports team is just a bad idea IMO.

Despite the failure of other NHL teams in warm weather destinations, the NHL is still exploring putting an NHL team in a different warm weather location. Why? There are other locations that would do better. Hell, you could put a franchise in Thunder Bay, Ontario and it would do better than Las Vegas.

I don't think this is going to work out very well. I wish Seattle/Portland would get off their asses and get a group together. The Pacific NW can support at least 1 NHL team. Put another in Kansas City or Quebec.

There are still lots of hurdles last I heard. It's a terrible idea though.

Who's the team that will get moved? Carolina Hurricances or Florida Panthers?

Panthers are ripe to move.

Neither, it will be expansion not relocation.

I highly doubt that. No owner is going to want to split the pie on a expansion gamble, no pun intended, and have to eat a potential failure like they did with the Coyotes a few years back. I am banking on the Canes or Panthers moving to Vegas.

I haven't seen one thing mention relocating a franchise, it is all expansion related with Quebec City being the other team.

I think Vegas could work for the NBA, but I just don't see the NHL being successful.

There just doesn't seem like there would be the fanbase, and there are several locations that seem like much better alternatives such as Seattle, Quebec City (small but rabid fans) or a second franchise in Toronto.

Where would they play

Can Thomas & Mack do ice? Orleans Arena isn't big enough and neither is Cox Arena
