The guy who will be starting for the #1 team in the nation next year is gonna sit out a year to come to our current disaster? I mean, who wouldn't?

No way JT or Cardale transfer since they have to sit out a year. Cardale might enter the draft and there is a possibility Braxton transfers (not likely).

You think Braxton tries a new position if he stays at OSU?

If he isn't the starter, he's transferring.

Disagree. If anything he is the most likely to transfer. Braxton coming back doesnt help Ohio St. It makes JT Barrett and Cardale Jones both sit and waste another year when both are more then capable to start. I love Braxton, but his time is simply up at Ohio St. I wish him the best, but its time to mutally agree to move on. JT Barrett will be the starter next year. I think Urban tells Cardale that today and Cardale goes pro tomorrow. Going pro is in Cardale's best interest as well. Somebody will draft him. He has all the tools. Sit and learn and get $$$$. He is already 22 and by the time he would go pro he would be almost 24. Transfering isnt an option because he would have to sit out another year. Strike now while the iron is hot. We have two stud QB's coming in. I think next year the QB chart looks like this. JT Barrett, Torrance Gibson then Joe Burrow. Braxton should transfer. Its in everybody's best interest.

Yeah kinda. I think he plays a new kind of position Urban makes up. Like a scatback that will throw the ball sometimes. He uses this year to sort of transition to the position he will have to play in the NFL

And he does that by playing a totally fake position that doesn't exist in the NFL.

Are you stupid?

I don't think Braxton starts if he comes back. I think it's JT's to lose. Jones to NFL and maybe Urbs uses both next year, if he can convince Braxton to stay, and I think he may, if Jones goes pro.

Eta- why would JT transfer if he only has to worry about Braxton for a year and lose a year of eligibility?

It's a transition? He doesn't have to lineup in the I or be strictly a wide receiver to help transition him out of playing QB. He is going to be used by Urban the best way possible to use his skills, which mean he will throw the ball some to make defenses prepare for more things. Don't really have to look at things black and white big guy.

I heard a radio snippet that interviewed Jones about his stance on the NFL and he said that he felt like he wasn't ready yet to make the jump. If a player is doubting is ability to compete, I doubt that he leaves.

He has to decide if he thinks his shoulder can hold up as a QB or if he thinks the NFL would value him more as a RB. Him playing a hybrid-type thing like you stupidly pointed out would not provide any service to him in terms of NFL draft stick.

Dude is not going to be a QB in the NFL plain and simple. You would know this if you saw him throw a ball. On top of that, his throwing arm is shot because of his shoulder. He hasn't been able to throw a ball since the last injury and I think can start again around preseason.

If he plays any type of position that requires him to be a skill player and not a QB it will help him transition to a potential position he will play in the NFL. He is going to be used the best way Urban can use him, which is going to be a skill position that will have a threat to throw the ball on some plays. That just makes the other team have to prepare for way more situations which is an advantage.

This isn't too hard to understand and it will help his stock way more than him trying to play QB.
