Let me say that Ohio State was much better than I would have imagined and are a very deserving champion (how the hell did they lose to Va. Tech).

Watching the game last night I made the comment at halftime what if this game continues with Ohio State absolutely dominating Oregon and keeps having stupid turnovers and loses after say 6 turnovers.

How do you feel about a system that almost gave us Oregon as a champion after seeing how physically dominated they were by Ohio State? If you were a TCU/Baylor fan how would you feel about being left out at that point?

I don't follow how Oregon winning would have been a disaster.

that OSU choked it away...?

no system can prevent something like that unless you go to series like in college baseball

Turnovers or not, winning on the field > passing the eye test

Without the playoffs the mnc would be Bama vs FSU.

I don't care what negative points you point to, THAT would have been a fraud.

Christ almighty, thank you for saying this.

If OSU pissed away the game over silly turnovers, that still would have been better than any of the old scenarios.

The last thing I want is the BCS back.

I've always been a proponent of an 8 team playoff.

Stop paying attention to the script A. My thoughts are that the current system much like the BCS rewards teams that play the easiest schedule possible without losing games, you are going to get undefeated FSUs, etc. in it and leave out teams from whatever conference are truly deserving simply because they play a tougher schedule.

Probably feel you need to schedule someone with a pulse OOC and play a championship game.

only thing that's a disaster is the ncaa mens basketball tournament that gave us two #8 seeds in the championship game.

Depends on why the team was an #8 seed, if their top scorer was out until January and they won their last 15 straight going into March would you still feel that way?

If anything the unexpected play of Ohio State justified the playoffs. If it wasn't for the playoffs, they wouldn't have even had a chance to compete. Teams that had similar credentials going into the tournament that were beaten out in the playoffs would have won a championship without having had to prove as much on the field.

The playoffs would been more of a "disaster" or useless if Alabama would have just blown through, or oregon had won. Ohio as 4th seed competing well in this game is the reason that there should be a playoff.

TCU lost to Baylor and head to head should rule all, so TCU fans can pound sand as far as I'm concerned.

Baylor's big marquee OOC game was Buffalo. They have have a game scheduled with Incarnate Word in a few years. Their scheduling is trash and they shouldn't get rewarded for it.

TL;DR - TCU win head to head, Baylor schedule somebody.

Once again I'm not saying we shouldn't have a playoff I'm saying a 4 team playoff isn't enough for a number of reasons.

Ohio State proving they were the best team in the country and most experts thought they shouldn't have been included is the exact reason we need to move to 8 quickly.

Hypothetical scenarios suck. We can sit here and play the "what if" game all day long.
