Recommend a Network Switch

Here is my Setup:
I have a 4 port wireless router that I'm happy with. In those ports I have connected a TiVo box, TiVo stream and SlingPlayer. The 4th port goes to 4 port network switch. I have a Smart TV, PC, and PS3 (which I never use anymore). The TiVo and Stream have to be on the Wireless router in order for me to DL video on the iPad.
I just got a WD MY Cloud server for Christmas. After installing it and using it for awhile, the last port on the switch quits working. The light on the front keeps going out, so I'm guess the switch is bad. It is probably over a decade old and it was cheap when I got it.
All of this is in a basement setup w/ drop ceilings, so I can run cable pretty easily to everything.
My questions.
1. Does my setup have any major problems?
2. Does it matter what kind of switch I get? Can I pick up a 5 or 8 port switch on Amazon for $10-$15?
3. Is running the connecting to the Cloud server through a switch going to cause any problems?

The first thing you want is a gigabit switch, not a 10/100. They cost about ten bucks more but well worth it for the tenfold speed increase on your internal network. That is particularly important for the cloud server which will probably be your only device capable of supporting the higher speed.

Get this one:
TP-Link 5-port
Or, if you need the ports, get the 8-port from the same maker.

Spend the extra $ and get the 8 port. It's less than $2 more

Trendnet 8 Port Gigabit
I picked up a couple of these a few months back on sale for around $14 each. Newegg and Amazon will often put the 5 port and 8 port version on sale for pretty good deals. Have gotten 5 port versions for under $10 in the past.
Work great for me and like that they are metal. Have one in living room for connecting various gaming consoles and other connected devices in entertainment center. Other connects to my primary wireless router and acts as hub for Cat 6 runs to bedrooms and kitchen. Have 5 port versions on other end for computers and connected devices in those rooms.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I have both the TP-Link switch and the Trendnet switch in my home. They both do what they're supposed to do.
