while i don't disagree with you, i may be a bit naive in my line of thinking.
in the last few years when the Left has had their best opportunity to get gun legislation passed, they have failed miserably. there is a major reason for that. in the midst of all of these shootings, States have been LESSENING their restriction on gun ownership, especially lowering the restriction of use when it comes to suppressors. I find it hard to believe that they will be able to get this through.
the amount of tax income through Stamps has exponentially increased with the implementation of E-Forms. the .gov has spent a tremendous amount of time and money getting this up and running, and making sure it runs smoothly. they have trained and hired more than double the examiners to make this procces easier for us good, tax paying civilians. i can imagine they would go the other way and try to pinch off the faucet again.

average member has no idea how the trust process works.
true, but i can't imagine that many R's would pass anything tightening on gun laws. this would kill e-forms.

You're panicking a year late.

Or are you a seller? Then sowing the seeds of panic is good for business anytime.

But if you live in parish where the sheriff refuses to sign off, then good luck.
this is a concern, however legislation was passed last year i believe, giving them 30 days to approve or disapprove. if it is disapproved for no good reason, you can actually take him to court and a Judge can force him to approve (though that would not be a fun process) it would probably take one person to take the CLEO to court and he would probably be a little more "lax" in his approval process
