Because we only gave Salmons $2 million we were short of bringng in QPon by about $50k. Switching out Rivers for Russ makes sense if they still see potential in Russ.

I mean if they don't see a future with Rivers then why not trade him? The guy is expiring this season and I would only think they would give him a minimum deal.
Keep Russ as he is a rookie and see if something clicks this offseason.
Salmons sits on the end of the bench the rest of the season.
It should save them some money also as Fredette will just get any extra minutes QPon doesnt get.

Boston might be the only team in the league that would even take Rivers. There's no such thing as a shite deal for a player that shouldn't be in the league.
