Was running the LSU lakes this morning, and a large bird flew out of a tree above. Looked up and it was a bald eagle. Watched it soar over the water for 5 minutes. Sweet!!!

Very cool!!!!

This is also where you admit to tripping on a sidewalk crack as you were running and looking up at the Eagle.

Used to walk about an hour deep into a cypress swamp to see a nest, and it was worth the walk. Of course, we caught lots of snakes along the way so that made the trip so much more worth it.

Have them all over here. When we were stationed at Pax, one had a nest over looking the 13th tee on the golf course. It was pretty cool to look up and see them.

I saw one on I-55 south north of Brookhaven last week. As many miles I've logged on I-55 I had never seen a bald eagle in that area of the state.

2 weeks ago at Lake Fausse Point, there were 2 circling the lake. One swooped down for a fish about 100 yds from us and dropped it. The 2nd one came by a minute later and dove down and caught the fish and flew off with it. It was very cool to watch.

I had never seen one till the early 2000's.
Now they are everywhere.
See several each year hunting, even see them at work in the plant.
Glad to see they made a huge comeback.

It's just so impressive how large the nests are.And the youngsters, without the white heads yet, still dwarfed the largest hawks I've seen. Just awe inspiring.

Very much so. It's even cooler to see them catch a fish.

See em pretty much every time I go duck hunting. Yesterday saw several in which one was a juvy, no white on head or tail. I have seen some cool stuff while hunting with these birds. I'm gonna buy a camera one day and get some Natl. Geo. pics.

I watched one at Kincaid lake (Rapides) sit on a limb and eat a small bass. A crow was harassing him and he finally flew off with the fish.

You can walk right up to the nest site, as it's on a trail. A couple of coves over from the beach.
