Parish Brewing Co., building on the popularity of one of its best-selling draft beers in the New Orleans market, said its Canebrake wheat beer will arrive in area supermarkets Monday (Jan. 12) in bottled form, the Broussard-based brewery said in a press release this week.

The beer will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles through local distributor Southern Eagle, which distributes Parish in Orleans Parish as well as Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Charles and a section of St. John parishes.

The brewery started operation in early 2010 and started showing up in New Orleans bars in May 2011. At the time NOLA.com | Times-Picayune drinks writer Todd A. Price noted, "I tasted Canebrake last year in New Orleans during American Craft Beer Week. I'd rank it as one of the best beers brewed in Louisiana."

Or you can just go to Martin's and buy it months ago.

For a second I thought this was an old thread. Why has it not been available in N.O.?

Na you're good. I leaned from your post that Todd Price is not a maven.

I have had it on draft all over NOLA. I just haven't seen it anywhere in stores in bottles.

Pretty sure it's on tap at Finns.

Definitely had it at the Bulldog and Winstons on multiple occasions in 2014.

Yup, it's pretty much next to every single Abita Amber tap in the city. Good for Parish ! I'm sure the brewer is proud.

I've had this beer on tap twice and both times it was very weak. The one time I bought I six pack I thought it was an average wheat beer. I just don't get the appeal.

I generally don't like fruity beers, with a few exceptions. Purple Haze is my least favorite of Abita.

Should have plenty of time for the infection to grow while on the road between Laffy and Nola.

They didn't believe they could supply enough bottles to meet the demand of the larger market in NOLA. Martin's has had them for a while because they bring them in from their BR store.
