New DC Must Be Either Haley or Clark (edited)

After thinking more...Les may want to promote Brick. I could see it going either way.
Scenario 1:
Clark named DC and Brick will remain at DL.
Can we be happy with that?
I have to admit that I am quite deflated after the Shoop news but at least if we get Clark we will avoid Steele or Stoops, either one of whom would have been the death knell for the current state of the program.
Clark is considered a bright emerging DC. He is very green. We will find out if he is ready for prime time.
Scenario 2: Brick is DC and we get a AC.
This new AC could be Orgeron at DL or someone altogether new at DL. Or, could Brick still coach DL and the new AC coach LBs?

Frick the Fat A$$ Chief in Texas!! He can eat a sack full of dicks for putting LSU in this position!

Would love the hire.
I still think brick may leave if he doesn't get the job, and especially if he lost it to a guy who used to be a HS coach not too long ago.
Brick would probably join Chavis.

Yea right, Miles isn't taking a flyer on Clark.

If Brick leaves (and he may) it will get even better because I think Les will hire a new DL coach not named Orgeron. Everyone will love that.
From what I have heard, Les and Clark have crossed paths a few times before.

How? Didn't he just sign a 3 year contract?

Exactly. We could do much worse.
Clark is a big gamble but at the very least he is unproven while Steele and Stoops are proven failures.
Perhaps we will see a return of the Co-DCs: Halclark.
Give Brick the Co-DC label to placate him.

Like I said in the other thread.
This is pure speculation.
I believe Haley knew Chavis was leaving. He signed his extension not knowing if LSU would buy him out/promote him, etc.
It's a smart move. It looks better on my end to my current employer and I'm trying to get a promotion to sign my contract and keep recruiting.
Unless I'm missing something, these contracts for the position coaches are completely one-sided. As in the position coaches can leave on their own whenever they got ready. However, if they were fired, the school would have to pay them what's left on the contract.
Now if I'm wrong, then I will admit my ignorance and move on. But Haley holds the cards as far as I read.

I believe you may be correct: Haley signing a new k means nothing; it does not bind him to LSU.

No confirmation that I have seen.

Brick could go to NW or Tech. They are looking for a DC.
