I'm no expert on sound bars, but I doubt Vizio makes the best anything.

The Klipsch I got my step-dad is pretty good, but unless you want to spend $3000+, I wouldn't look for the best

For price+performance? Yes.

Best overall? Course not.

Have to wait for a good sale for a "best bang for your buck" type of soundbar.

Just got a $300 Panasonic bar yesterday for $150.

Just do your research and be patient. You'll see the biggest sales around Memorial Day-Fathers day.

For what price? These things go from cheap to several thousand dollars.

I bought a Definitive Technology Mythos SSA-50 On-Wall/Shelf Loudspeaker, but it doesn't handle a/v inputs, it's just a speaker. I got it for under $400 because it was used.

If I wanted a soundbar with inputs and I had the cash I'd probably buy this; it'll blow anything sub $1k out of the water: DT SoloCinema XTR (Refurb) Someone here pointed me to this seller on ebay; not sure why their name is what it is but the couple of things I have bought from them have come straight from Definitive Technology, so this guy must be their official/unofficial refurbished items re-seller.

At least buy speakers from a company that focuses on speakers and speakers only.

Sounds like he wants value, not top of the line.

Doesn't have to be top of the line. There are plenty of sound bars made by real speaker companies that don't break the bank.

Panasonic and Sony were terrible suggestions.

Heard that too. Never heard any Atlantic Techs but they are always on sale on Amazon.

The Atlantic Tech looks like the Outlaw

I talked my dad into that one and it's pretty badass. I run it on 2 channel from my phone and it rocks the place. It's also got all sorts of effects for the digital inputs. I think he runs it in 3 channel usually and it sounds pretty damn good. He didn't want to have to deal with all sorts of shite, so I recommended this unit for him. It blew him away honestly.
