Are there any laws that prevent you from doing something you would do if legal?

Besides speeding and other minor traffic violations for the sake of the thread.

I don't drive drunk because i find if morally wrong and dangerous, i don't kill or assault people because i have no desire to do so, you get the idea. I can't think of anything.

eta: and paying taxes.

I'd like to be in possession of 10 pounds of cocaine, but I can't because the law says I can't.

Wait is this stuff we still wouldn't do, even if it was legal?

Or stuff we would do it if it were legal?

You can make 'huasca yourself, if you are of the mind. If you've taken organic chemistry you can do it.

this, but you don't do it now because it's illegal. and it's illegality is the sole factor in you not doing it.

I'd decline to pay taxes if it weren't a crime.

Can someone explain why this archaic and fascist law is still on the books?
