Not trolling, and sorry if Germans.

If we land Shoop, what happens as far as Coach O is concerned?

I don't think O is gonna be here regardless of who the DC is

I would think if haley is locked up, bey bey would not be a option. Haley can flat out recruit himself so I don't see it as a bad thing if brick stays.

Nothing has confirmed Shoop. He is probably getting an interview, but could also just using this to leverage a huge raise from the deep pockets at PSU.

That is all we know.

Depends on Brick's situation. Does he leave, is he fired, is O pursued by others....etc. I can't imagine not keeping Brick or O. We need someone familiar to recruit the area

I assume we won't hear anything about position coach changes until after the hire is made... and that's why Coach O says he hasn't been contacted yet.

He's not a bad recruiter by any means, but he has missed a lot of targets the last few years. Frank and Corey are our best 2 recruiters and Orgeron is on another stratosphere as a recruiter.

It won't be the end of the world by any means though. We need a good DC more than anything. We recruit just fine as a program.

Nothing. Unless Brick leaves, and I don't believe he will.

He WILL NOT be fired

It all depends on if, assuming Shoop is hired, Haley gets pissed that he wasn't promoted and leaves, opening up the DL coach for O.

For two new coaches to come on board, one coach would need to leave on his own accord. I am not aware of Les Miles ever firing or letting someone go.

If this does not happen and Haley agrees to stay, do you think Orgeron or maybe a Penn State coach could be hired to coach LB's, or will Shoop have to coach LBers?

If Shoop is the new DC - there has to be a change, somewhere - currently, Brick coaches the DL and Raymond coaches the DBs.

Chavis coached LBers. Neither Shoop nor Raymond is likely to coach LB. Brick could add LB and become the DL/LB coach. Peveto has coached LB at several spots - and was LSU's LB coach pre-Chavis. He was even listed as the LB coach under Pelini and, at least, had success as a position coach (Pelini is mainly a DC/DB) if not a co-coordinator.

Honestly, unless Brick is promoted to DC, I can't imagine a scenario where both Brick and O are on our staff.

I've heard we're gettin another coaching slot, but I haven't seen that officially. Is it possible Ensminger moves to an office job? That would free up a slot.

Raymond is not leaving his DB post. If Shoop comes in, he'll likely be LB's coach in addition to DC.

Shoop has never coached LBers. It's not just that simple to do it.

At worst, assuming Haley stays, you move Peveto to LBers/ST coach. At best, you move Haley to LBers coach, let go of someone (Ensminger for example) and bring in O to coach DL.

Haley has experience coaching LBers.

He's been a D Coordinator for some time, now. He's coached them, trust me.

So Shoop is not coaching any positions? That's a waste.

There is a difference between coaching a position and being a strategic leader.

Seemed to work fine when Pelini was here. You had:
Pelini - DC
Lane/Kirby - DL
Peveto - LB
Mallory - DB

So, what was the problem then?
