...dude can fling it! 2 star from Rivals?!? He is mobile...only threw 3 pics this year. Can throw accurately on the run. Big guy too. I like the cut of his jib...to quote Mr. Burns! What gives??? Heard he tore it up a LSU camp.

That's what happens when you are barely 6 feet tall.

I've seen the kid play in person and I heard he was absolutely the best qb at camp, in this class at least. His rating is stupid low for a guy who has been the qb for the most productive 6A school in the state of Texas in that 3 year time span. This is what happens when you commit early and nobody in your state has offered. The recruiting websites just don't even pay attention to him. He did not go to any camps or play enough glorified flag football tournaments I guess.

I'm not saying this kid is a 5 star qb, but he's a solid qb who can lead and win games. He has better arm strength than people realize and is accurate on the run as well as the pocket. He has Russell Wilson-esque monster hands. He wants to redshirt at LSU and be as prepared as possible. I would imagine he'll see some spring game action.

His other offers are Arkansas State, SF Austin, and UNLV. It doesn't say everything, but it says something.

Actually he is not very big at all. I think he's something like 6'0" 170ish.

6'0"-6'1" range. Probably closer to 180 nowadays.

His rating dropped after their state championship game. He only took about half the snaps, he split time with a soph. QB.

The sophomore is the running qb and I think it was a good adjustment. That kid played a lot because Mcmillian barely played into the 3rd quarter all season.

Listening to After Further Review yesterday and Ben Love stated that he has grown since those measurements were taken. Said he was 6'-2" close to 200 lbs. Not saying its true, so don't kill the messenger, but he does follow recruiting for a living.

He's not 200, but he's certainly heavier than 170. I think he's a few lbs over 180.

I would agree with that. Seemed a little high when I heard it. Probably 185ish, but with room to grow once he gets on campus.

Who were Drew Brees offers outside of Purdue? What did that say?

That's about right. He's a good sized qb out of high school.

I'm glad to hear good news concerning QB's. Maybe getting rid of the others was cutting dead weight and Jennings this year was the exception and Cam from this point forward will bringing in guys to fit his system and bad QB play will be a thing of the past

so he's rated low because he's small?

Some sites have used "NFL potential" as justification for ratings before. I don't think that is the ALL the case in McMillan, but probably a factor.

I think the explanation for his low star rating hinges on two things. 1 he committed early so the recruiting sites just stopped following him as closely. 2 He's throwing to a damn good WR and has a damn good running back to make plays also. He's just lost in the shuffle as analysts pay more attention to those around him.

He was A 3 STAR until his 2nd state championship game in Texas was over. I accidentally caught his game on TV 3 weeks ago and he looked good. I like him better than Jennings.
