How many of you were fairly positive of what your career would be in 8th grade?

I'll tell you I had no clue. I'm not even recalling having any real discussions with anyone at the time that ever amounted to anything or put any real thought into it.
My answer if you had asked me would have been "what was the local flavor of the day?".... I'd like to think majority of the folks were like that. Of course I still had the imagination of a child and could easily get off on dreams of some grandeur but had NO CLUE how I was going to get there/accomplish that.
What got me thinking about this was this 8th grade photo of Andrew Wiggins I saw on r/NBA earlier. Dude pretty much knew at age 13 that he was going to be a self-made millionaire and have a chance to travel the US/World playing a game that he loved. I guess when your nickname(s) are "Junior Jordan" and "The Prospect", you just know

I hope Iihaam Zafar has him a "multi-billion dollar company" on his portfolio by now

I wanted to be an investment banker, politician, or naval officer.

In 8th grade I wrote down I wanted to be a NAVY pilot..
Now I fly in the NAVY but sit in the back and operate systems. I came pretty close and have gotten the chance to fly a few times.

I was load-testing my love muscle in the Eighth Grade. All by myself. Any career thoughts at that time would have been centered about that as a vocation. I came to find out that masturbation was not practicable as a career. Who knew?
I was extremely positive at that time that I wanted to continue the action, only with a female partner to assist. I have been fortunate enough that several females have obliged me long-term in sharing my dreams of facilitating what has become quite the hobby for me.

In 8th grade I knew exactly what I wanted to be. When I was a freshman in college I had no idea what I wanted to be.

Yeah, if he was doing windmill dunks in the 8th grade, he probably had a pretty good feeling that an NBA future might be in play.

I honestly did start giving it a lot of thought until my junior year of high school and even then I was way off. I also changed major 2 times early on in college.

Everyone who goes into pro sports says this. It's a popular idea for young kids, and generally the kid who says that is a good player

Pau Gasol wanted to be a doctor until he was 18.
