Would you take a train charter to an LSU game?

I always thought it would be fun to charter a railroad car and take it with a group to an LSU game. There are sidings near LSU that could be used, and a group would keep the expense down. Your tailgate could be at the railroad car, many of which have a full bar and kitchen. The car has sleeping accommodations.

I'm talking about a luxury car like this one that comes with a chef and an attendant:

This is the kind of food served:

A train full of annoying drunks that you can't escape. Sounds like a blast.

I cannot even describe to you how quickly the class I railroads would shut down a bunch of drunks on and around the tracks and right of way.

Why would I take a train when I can take a helicopter?

I want to say there was a little station right around the old Alex Box.

It is a charter, you would choose your friends to go. So, unless your friends are all annoying drunks, it would not be an issue.

I would ride. That 2.5 hour drive back to N. LA is a grind. Would be nice to have a hiball and nap the rest of the way.

Wasn't a specific charter but my daughter and I did take a train up to Columbia, SC when the Tigers played USCE. Was a pretty cool trip. Having done that I would imagine a way cooler version would to be on it with your friends and fellow Tiger faithful. Would buy a ticket or two on the Bayou Bengal Expressssssss

There used to be a train shuttle from NO to tiger stadium for all home games. It consisted of several cars and they would just park on the tracks along Nicholson south of the stadium. No depot. Drunks would fall out when it arrived and climb back on after the game. Never rode one, but I heard stories of wild times.

Used to be a train that ran from Shreveport to BR for games. 1950s. Big deal.

Aside from the sexual side of it, I wouldn't mind stomping all over the trains.

man, I would do that shite in a heartbeat...be kinda like the ski train in Denver...

there is an amtrack line north/south through MS and I believe another one from NO to Br, so it is absolutely possible...

There used to be a siding by old Alex Box where a train could pull off the main line....

If there were enough interest (and money) you could probably put something together with the NO Public Belt RR, which has three recently modernized custom passenger cars and/or the Louisiana Steam Train Association who runs SP-745 (that was built in Algiers at the old SP shops). They also have a couple of passenger cars....
