I don't care that it's a 3 year old pic (2011).

Makes me want to get some legit predator calling gear and lay the hammer down.

And to add insult to injury, he was a great deer. There's not a piece of property I hunt where the isn't a coyote presence, but I've never targeted them specifically. Thinking about investing in some traps. What do y'all do besides shooting onsite?

Shoot onsite. Shot one in the stand last time I was there.

Snares are pretty brutal, but seeing stuff like this reinforces why we do it.

I walked up on 2 this weekend in Texas and I couldn't get them in my sights clearly because they were running in tall grass.

I hate the bastards. They are very smart too.
I wanted to try to trap them, but it's just not feasible because I'm too far away.

Set traps before you leave, come back to dead coyotes. Thats what we do with our snares.

Nah. I've got that method mastered. I want to learn the way of the snare.

Its not a thick gauge wire, and they are usually moving pretty quick. You catch all kinds of shite in snares, they can be a lot of fun.

Next time you have deer trimmings from processing, mix them with rat poison and leave several small piles around your property. Will be effective on yotes, but will also get dogs if you have any around.
