Who doesn't hate NOLA?

Elysian Fields
The Wards among other Ghetto and Project Neighborhoods
The Rift Raft/Hobo's/Beggers/Not actual street performers
Quarter Rats
Crime Rates
Corrupt Politicians(Where did the CCC Tolls money go?)

Outside of Uptown and parts of Mid City...NOLA has very few redeeming qualities.

Edit: I forgot Dirty as frick Mississippi River, F'd up streets, and all those other things most tourists say that are true while trashing our city Kyle Turley Style on the way out.

3 downvotes....I must have offended some Chalmations.

F Metairie too.

I got a great deal on a lease here...couldn't pass it up.

Although the neighborhood I stay in does allow me to walk my dog with flop flops at any time of night without the threat of being approached randomly...so there is that.

I present...Chubs my Chinese Pug. My vicious attack dog.

Feel free to pick your arse up and leave.

Why live in a place you hate?

Hate is a strong word however people act like there is nothing wrong with New Orleans and something is wrong with you if you have anything negative to say about it. NOLA does have a plethora of problems that will never be fixed(Louisiana has a similar problem).

At the end of the day I am employed to remain here...so unless you have a job lined up for me in my industry elsewhere...my livelihood says it would be wise to stay.

Tigerbait's opinion doesn't pay bills so I don't think I will include you in my life decisions. Please excuse my ignorance.

Fact is there are nicer places to live and at the same time I have lived in much worse.

New Orleans is OK but most people can only grasp that if they are not alcoholics who only live to drink and watch football.

Is it some industry unique to New Orleans?

What industry are you in?

That's honestly Nola's biggest problem: the job market. You're treating it like a strength.

What a ridiculous statement. There are plenty of successful doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, etc who absolutely love living in New Orleans

True, there are many nicer places.

Obviously you haven't lived in a lot of places. NOLA is one of the better cities to live in when talking about work, transit, and livelihood.

Now murder and education is shitty as hell, but if your child/family lives in a nice area and go to the better schools in the city you're doing well. Ben Franklin is a top 25 school year in and year out for high schools in the nation. LSU has so many graduate programs, as does Tulane. It isn't a total shitfest like some places.

Industry unique...no

Industry crucial...yes

Regardless of what you do for a living...the Gulf Coast is quintessential for what I do for a living and my only real alternatives are bum frick texas...and I really hate Texas.

I have several friends who graduated from Loyola Law, Tulane Law...that are struggling so hard to make ends meet that they question why they took on the burden in the first place...for every 1 Morris Frickin Bart there are 100's of Joe Wannabe Bidens....do you know them too and speak for them as well or do you only speak out off arse?
